1/2 Mile drag racing event in Sulphur Springs this past weekend

Some friends and I went to the Sulphur Springs 1/2 mile event this past weekend that is just about 40 miles from home. It was way better than I expected. It was actual 1/2 mile drag races down the air strip of cars side by side.

Got to see some pretty cool cars up close like the Porsche 918. I saw runs for this car in 204mph range.

But.. the coolest was several Lambo Hurracans that ran 210, 217, 227, & 228. That was hauling in a 1/2 mile race.

Saw some near misses from a few cars getting sideways mid track. One Lambo did run off the end of the course and slid sideways into a pole. The owner said.."that is just a few grand to fix.. an engine loss would be closer to 200 grand."

Then... we saw one of the Lambo blow an engine and was a massive fireball down the strip.

All in all.. was a good time and will attend again next year.

I did too...it is just so far to get there.

BTW.. There were more CTSV's there than Corvettes.
