I was very pleased with the Garmin Virb I tried this past weekend but didn't find time to really play with it. I got the base model with no Wifi and GPS so there wasn't much else to play with anyways; I also got the remote that has a feedback LED (flashes red while recording) so no guessing as to whether or not you are live:

I will be sending it back to get the Garmin Virb Elite for $37 more that has built in wifi and GPS. It has GPS based recording profiles so I don't have to manually hit the record button, and can also overlay data from external sensors if you want to mess with that. Going for the auto record and wifi as the SD card is inside the unit behind the battery so I'd like to avoid having to take it apart to get data every time.

GoPro 4 here. Does the job but you MUST be diligent about dumping the memory card each day and charging it between sessions. I have the stuff to hardwire it but haven't yet.

my $50 dash cam did well, set it and forget it, it just worked, no messing with hitting record etc, when it gets full it just overwrites the old stuff.

What's with the weird skips? Does it do like the GoPro and cut the vids off at a certain length forcing you to join them back together?

Update on this, I made an adjustment in the software and the skips are now gone.

Seems like a reasonably priced addition/replacement for my old Hero2 which acted weird last time I used it. Everything outside the car was washed out horribly.

Tyler - is it fairly easy to get the video out of that camera, and onto your laptop? I've been thinking about putting that camera in my company trucks, for an inexpensive CYA.
