    Video editing

What do y'all use for editing your videos? I want to be able to select a small portion of a full-race video, and save that as a much smaller file.

Free is great, but I don't mind paying a reasonable fee.

I am on Windows 7 Pro.

    Appreciate any suggestions.

    thx

I imagine it depends to an extent what format your videos are recorded in. I'm now lost myself as all the Gopro stuff seems geared toward making mindless 5 second clips to text to your friends. I used to use the free Gopro Studio software. I think even Windows Movie Maker may have been able to handle that?

I went with Video Pad. They have a free version, for home non-commercial use. Took me about an hour to clip out a 30 second section from a full race video, mostly learner's mistakes. Hopefully the next time will be much quicker.

    More reps is always better.

I started with Pinnacle Studio and use the Sony Vegas Pro stuff now.

    Chris,

Check out Filmora Wondershare. It is about $50 and works great and is fairly cheap.

I have been using it for family videos and my daughters college recruiting videos.

I had good luck with race render trying it out for the first time. Was able to trim down a video in addition to overlaying data from the datalogger. Neat stuff and runs $40-50. Only used it once so far but now that I have a template setup it should be easy moving forward.
