Build em loose and fast! I've built around 15 motors now, none have made that sound except that one, at least it runs good!
Fun Fact, I had City Motor Supply recondition stock rods and put ARP bolts in them, got em back to build the motor and the OE big ends were within .0003 of spec, the remans were .002 over/under, they wouldn't have lasted more than a few mins if I put them in w/o checking.
Fortunately I had that extra set of OE rods, that's what's in the motor now, with stock rod bolts even.
Myself and my builder haven't been a fan of resizing oem GM rods for ARPs as it's yet another place for margin of error, and no one really knows of stock rods are safe to resize that much. I mean you're taking away metal for a more "robust" fastener.
For our RPM/power levels I think it makes more sense to just buy two sets of oem rod bolts: one to check/set clearance and one for final assembly.
Once you're at the stage where you feel like you need ARPs for rods, time for better rods that were made to take them without modification.

At my current level of consumption, it'd take just under 200yrs before I'd build 15 motors...

All it would only take me 15!
