    S197/5th Gen Camaro CMC2!

Just kidding, but with our newest chassis turning 16 next season maybe it is time to think about how to bring more modern chassis into the fold? However I haven’t heard of someone not running the class because the cars are old...

Robin Burnett who won Spec Iron is very familiar with Mid Ohio. He is a regular in our region and has raced Mid O hundreds of times. If anybody was going to get a spec iron car around Mid O fast it would be Robin. So I think the fast times for Spec Iron would be accurate.

And what year is the BMW you bought for SE46? Hah. Isn't it turning 16?

At least it's from this century - Consider the Camaros we run were designed in `92 (more like `91) at the newest and the mustang in `78. Computing power for design legitimately didn't exist when CMC cars were the pinnacle of mullet tech.

Not quite this century and not much different than the 4th Gen Mustang or Camaro. Maybe that's why they run about the same lap times but cost triple to build (hence Records waffling). And people were tuning cars with computers in the 80's but you weren't alive then? Ever changed a chip? hah.

"In 1993, the development programme for the E46 began under chief engineer Wolfgang Ziebart and head of R&D Wolfgang Reitzle." Credit Wiki.
