    Had a great time... (bittersweet)

Guys I had a great time at the track.

I just wanted to give a little thanks to those who helped me with my cooling issues. Jerry McNeil, Wayne Manor, Michael, Jeff Brooks, David Donovan. The cooling issue is resolved and the new balancer made the motor happy for R3.

    Now for the bittersweet...

Racing on Sunday was really close with DD for the first 20 minutes or so when I caught back up. Too bad I was sloppy and went off in the sweeper.

That damn K-wall was moved after T16 allowing no room for error. Needless to say, I had a bit of error (twice) and got into the tires. The first time split the hood and cracked my bumper. The second hit was not as gentle.

Looks like I'm going to have to:

    Repair
    Hood
    Bumper (weld broke on impact)

    Replace
    Front Bumper cover
Air filter (came off in the impact)
    Hood pins
    Door
    Window moulding
    Rar quarter moulding
    Rear bumper cover
    Tail light

Thankfully it's already with the best body man I know. I dropped it off this morning and should get it back in a few weeks...

The good news is I thought the tranny was also hurt, but it seems to be doing fine now.

Oh well, I hope NASA TX really does come through with a loud and clear message to MSR-H to move that wall back. I think there were 9+ people hit roughly the same place this weekend.

We watched 4 consecutive cars in GPC hit that wall.

Good luck on getting your car fixed.

Hmm, I always thought to myself that more folks should give more respect to that end of the track (going into the corner).
Now, the out needs more respect?
Geez. All that with an unprotected pit row entrance.
    Mine field racing hehe.

Eagle's Canyon has the exact same config on their drawing.
I mentioned this before I believe.

If it were me I would send Houston a bill and a crudely worded letter.
I bet it will cost more to fix your car than it cost Lyons to fix the fence. HA

Spec Miata also had two cars into that wall.

    Spec Miata = 2
    CMC AI = 4
    GPC = 4

That's an awful lot of cars in one weekend, not coincidental if you ask me.

I'm sure the NASA officials are listening, right?

I believe SCCA requested the wall be moved to increase the hot pit area - I bet they reconsider after their first event.

i mentioned today to someone about having a letter to NASA TX stating that we have no intrest in running MSR-H more than 1 time in 2008. i thinkmost all our AI/CMC guys would sign it. if all the other racing class's that felt the same, did the same, it would have an impact.
    yes/no?

    Glenn,
I'd sign that letter as well as another which says unless they move the wall, we're not coming back at all...

some configurations are just plain stupid, regardless of whether everyone has to "deal with it" during the weekend.

I lost my brother Matt in Angleton a couple of years ago.
I can't find words for Corey.
Who am I to jump up somebodys ass?
All I had was a hug.
I'm glad they made it to the banquet.
