    Race Car Insurance

FYI: I recently bought an agreed value insurance policy for my car through Heacock Classic (800-678-5173). $40,000 agreed value for $250 a year. It covers the car while stored, on the paddock and during transport. It was pretty simple. I described the car, sent photos from all sides and told them I attend roughly 6 weekend events per year. Some piece of mind for not a lot of money. FMR

Wow, I have that exact same policy through them only my car and trailer combo is valued at $20K. I also pay $250 / year.

Looks like I need to up my limits.

And my policy, exactly as described above, for car, trailer and trailer contents is for $35,000 and has the same annual policy.

Actually, as I understand it, we are members in a very large blanket policy, covering this kind of stuff for up to $50,000. The caveat is each insured line item has it's own deductible. In my case, I have 3 deductibles to meet if the trailer is stolen with my car in it.

On a side note, a few weeks ago, my trailer was parked next to this large Cottonwood tree and was swaying dramatically in the wind. I was sure hoping for a new trailer ...

Mitch-just watch for the next hailstorm and head right for it, then find a place to park your truck so only the trailer gets pelted.

I also use them for my car but the trailer is covered under my regular car insurance.

I tried that and they wouldn't insure it. Never understood why ...
