The Sealy area is flat. Did I mention FLAT - as in a lot like MSR-Houston. Add in your survey about elevation changes.

Wow, I'm really excited about all these tracks being developed. I just hope these guys eat their marketing wheaties. However, I expect to see some properties changing hands as building a base to support them is going to take a few years.

I sent my feedback. It's great to have places to play.

Maybe I need to start development of my perfect racetrack in the Hill Country near Austin.... Anyone got a few million laying around?

Texas seems to be getting its fair share of tracks:

- TWS (College Station)
- TMS (Haslet)
- MSR - Cresson
- MSR - Houston
- Eagle's Canyon (Slidel)
- Racer's Ranch (Terrell, Under Construction)
- Liberty Motorsports Park (East of Houston, Under Construction)
- Grand Sport Raceway (South of Houston, Under Construction)
- Harris Hill Road (NE of San Marcos, Under Construction)
- Driveway Austin (Partially Constructed?)

Looks like Houston has a bunch in the works, and one (Harris Hill) south of Austin. I'd really like to seeon out in the Hill Country West of Austin, and one NE of DFW (Just because it'd be near me -- I miss GUNTRRING!)

I posted in my survey to make sure to do enough dirt work so the pavement doesn't deteriorate in a year like MSR-H...

I also added elevation comments.

Takes a lot of dirt to stabilize decades of rice patties......

The SCCA gave the track money this winter so they could continue to operate.

I doubt all these tracks can survive, but I hope they do. The prices at the San Marcos track sound high to me. If you are a member it's $200.00 a day for Monday thru Thursday and $300.00 for Friday thru Sunday! I do hope we get one in Austin and/or San Marcos. That would give me three tracks less than two hours away (with TWS). I really like MSR Cresson the most so I don't mind that 3.5 hour drive but I hate MSR Houston. I don't like the track (the sweeper that goes on forever) or the drive. Eagles Canyon looks like a bunch of long boreing straitaways (maybe I'm wrong I have not been there) and it's almost to Denton. A really long drive for me.

Don't you just love a new guy telling you what he thinks like he's an expert when he has never gone door to door in his life?

The car did great but I have lots to learn! I'm much faster in the C6 than in CMC #17. Sunday afternoon I saw 280 oil temps! Is boxing the radiator okay in CMC?

I don't know about MSRH, it's gonna be hot hot hot and I don't even have a driving suit. Waiting for the Nomex crop to come in. What exactly is Racecraft?

Ol' Jerry is gonna be a great addition to CMC... lotta bitchin' an moanin' about the car... perfect for the 17 car... only difference is the size of the driver... LOL

from what I saw he should be on the "fast track" towards his competition license and get a provisional to start on sunday... I think he screwed up by takin off all the "race winner" stickers, cuz he is gonna be puttin' on some new ones very soon.... see you in my mirrors, Jerry...

Okay David,

I was bitchin about the car, but only that it's a far cry from the C6 that I have been driving at the track. I'm not good enough yet to have the same issues Eric had. I do hope to be there soon though.

Thanks for coming over and introducing yourself. Hope to see you in MY rear view!

One of the smart guys will chime in, but yes, CMC folks build ducting for the radiator.

Also re-read 8.5.3

Houston... it's not that hot.

280 oil is not that bad :) During this time of year my oil usually sits right around there, and I have a 31" radiator and a nice big oil cooler.

Heck, I think Corey was running 280 water at TWS

P.S. The above statement was not to suggest a car can take 280 water....it can't.

I've pegged 300+ oil and 250+ water several times.... The car finally got pissed off and made me replace head gaskets.

If you aren't running at least 260'ish oil in a Mustang... you aren't pushing it hard enough!

280-300 water temps for me....

However once I removed the cracked head ,it runs 220 water.
