Catalytic Converter that is... Thinking of gutting the one on my truck and wondering just how hard it is to break up the stuff inside?

I saw a bumper sticker the other day that read;

Yes, used a big long screw driver/hammer to section it inside so that the sections would come out the end.
No biggie.
Crumbly ceramic.

JB hit it on the head.

You could use a piece of re-bar, angle iron, anything that can be driven into the ceramic monolyth to break it up. It's pretty fragile when f'd with.

Great! Now all I have to find is a 4" heavy duty band clamp to put it back together once I cut the tubing!
