I'm working also today... trying to get out early. Heading out to wonderful Raiderland (Lubbock) tomorrow morning to be with the in-laws. Will brave the 3-4" snow forecast (according to my father-in-law) and probably only hit flurries... but it will be damn cold for sure...

Sunday I'm going to try and get some good "car time" in and get the new sway bar mounts welded up and lexan cut for the side windows.

Marshall,

If you have a drawing or template for the windows I will be glad to run them for you (with mine) on our CNC punch press. All it would cost you is the material. I was assuming .090" thick material would be about right?

Could you use a CAD file... if so... What format?

DAvid,

We can use just about anything you would have. A DXF file would work perfect.
We use Autocadd, Solidworks, and Pro-E. I will make as many of these as everyone needs for just the cost of material. It will only take ten minutes to make a ten or twelve sets.

Jerry,

Which CNC machine do you have?

ShadowBolt

We have four Strippit's (one 1000 XP and three Global 20's with auto load/unload) we also have a Trumpf 2510 laser with auto load/unload but we really are not supposed to cut plastic of any kind on the laser. It cuts fine but screws up the filters.

Interesting, I work at a similar place near Waco. We have a Wiedemann 2550 Punch Press, a Romeo Water Jet, and a NTC 510 Laser to go with all of the usual shop equipment.

DD,

Does your engine have fuel injection or a carburetor?

marshall_mosty

Jerry,
You can CNC Lexan?
Right now I have cardboard cutouts, but can/will convert them to DXF. I can put the raw files in either .CCD or .DWG format depending on which 2D package I use (CADAM or AutoCAD).

I just need something to put a few NACA ducts in. Glass doesn't "cut" very well. :D

Yes

ShadowBolt

We would rather have Autocadd.

David and Marshall,
Yes we can CNC punch polycarb (Lexan).
We have a machine called a Virtek that will laser scan the windows and reverse engineer them into DXF files.

Can you bring the out to Hutto next week? Call me if you need to at 512-658-7640.

I guess you could consider what I did today as work.

I worked on my late apexes, worked on power on drifts, worked on threshold braking... I'll let Todd fill in the details.

I live between Georgetown and Leander on 2243 but I will be away from home today unless we can get together before 10:00 AM? If not I will be home Friday, Sat. and Sun. working on the race car. Call me if you can bring the windows out.

So, I have the switch on my dash that stopped working...seems to be wired into the main harness and can't tell where it goes... Any ideas if I should just flip it off and see if that changes anything?

That's your Luck Switch, Matt.
Make sure it's in the "on" position.
(Even when parked in the trailer.)
:?

PS- Don't tell me you turned off or disabled the Luck Switch, Matt, did you?!?!

Main disconnect was off...I fiddled with the column today...this may be an easier fix than I thought. I just have to get my chip reburned to turn off the PATS system and study the wiring diagram for a few hours... Car should be alive next weekend again.
