If any of you generous warm hearted people are looking for a good cause to throw some money at. Please consider attending.
As a member of the East Dallas Boys & Girls Club Advisory Board, and on behalf of the Board, I invite you to a Bingo night on Friday, February 1, 2008, at the historic Lakewood Theater in East Dallas. All proceeds will benefit the East Dallas Boys & Girls Club. It will be a fun casual night with good cash prizes and some neat auction items. Details are in the attached invitation.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas' mission is to inspire and empower all youth, with special concern for those from disadvantaged circumstances, to achieve their full potential in a positive, safe and fun environment. The East Dallas club provides after-school programs for almost 1000 members in areas such as character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, and sports, fitness, and the arts. Daily attendance at the club exceeds 100 kids, and the change in these kids' lives once they get involved with the club is remarkable.
Through fundraisers like these, we've been able to supplement the club's programs in a variety of ways including purchasing new basketball uniforms, revamping the club's game room with new ping-pong, pool, bumper pool, and foosball tables, sponsoring an East Dallas Youth of the Month award with gift cards and framed certificates, and sponsoring a Christmas party for the kids complete with pizza, pictures with Santa, and gifts to take home. The money raised at this event will go directly towards supporting the East Dallas kids and supplementing the Greater Dallas organization's program budget.
