Performance Shop Totals a Customer's Car - Not Responsible?!

The short story -- Guy takes his '03 Cobra to houston Performance for work, and the shop takes the car out and wrecks it. Shop owner tells customer to file on his own insurance since the shop doesn't have insurance.

I smell BS on so many levels here. Houston Performance may not be around much longer...
