Our thoughts & prayers are with your family. I've never heard of such a thing at such a young age. Houston is the place to diagnose & treat such things. She'll be in good care. Let us know if you need anything.

Genetic... but never this early... Army insurance will only pay 50% if treated locally... she is going to go back to Fort Hood for consult... prognosis here indicates she will loose one ovary, hoping to save the other... very hard for the whole family... I will update has more information becomes available... Thanks for your concern...

I know her and her husband's pain.

Debbie had a tumor removed, along with all the plumbing and fixtures, at 25.

Prayers, thoughts and best wishes for her and all the family.

Amber is STILL waiting on insurance to approve the treatment plan from their OWN FRIGGIN doctors... This is BS... Bet they wouldn't wait this long for their premium payment!!!

Wait until the dems give us national health care. This wait will look short. I hope she gets help soon!

David,
Is Amber's condition such that time is of the essence? (I'm unfamiliar with such plumbing problems.)

Let us know if you need anything...there's enough collective energy here to accomplish anything. (maybe even a measly National AI Championship. )

First off I want to say THANK YOU to all of your thoughts and prayers during all of this.

As of right now I'm just waiting on the military health care system to approve my primary care doctor's referral to a specialist at Fort Hood's hospital in order to have this surgery done. Since we were lucky enough to find the cancer early, I should just have to have my ovary on the left side removed. I've also been diagnosed with a condition called PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome). The surgery is supposed to get rid of all the cancerous tissues and help manage the PCOS. But the longer we sit around and wait the greater the risks are for the cancer to spread and the longer I have to deal w/ pain.

I should hopefully hear something by the end of this week as far as when my appointment with the specialist is going to be so that we can schedule the surgery.

So, as of now that's all we know! It's getting to be VERY frustrating! Adam (my husband) and I are planning on coming out to the races this weekend to hang out and watch everyone race. Thanks again for all the support and prayers and hope to see ya'll at MSR this weekend!

I thought I posted an update yesterday, bit I can't find it...

Amber had surgery Friday morning, outpatient procedure included removal of cancerous tissue and scar tissue from previous ovarian complications... Adam (her husband) reported that things went well and Amber is sore but resting at home... poor Adam had to take his young daughter to the ER on Sat. morning and found inner ear and eye infections... young man has his hands full...

My Dad is in the hospital trying to recover from botched radiation treatement. He had prostate cancer and the radiation treatment burned a hole between his urethra and large intestine. This caused urine to come out his anus, which in turn caused a major infection... he is down from 140 pounds to 95 and is all skin and bones... he almost died over the weekend and his sister flew out from England on Monday... I have been driving her down to Webster from Tomball everyday... glad I was fired when I was because my old boss would not have allowed me the time off anyway... I suffer from depression especially in the winter months but I am determined not to get down about my dad, job loss and Amber and Adam's legal problems (whole other story)... New pastor at our church did a sermon the other day about "everything happening for a reason" and it echos in my head every day (lots of empty space there for some awesome reverb)... Thanks to racing and the NASATX fellowship, I look forward to checking this forum every day to get away from it all.... thanks guys and gals for being my friends and putting up with my crap, don't know what I would do without you!!!

sorry for the long post... not even 1/2 of all the stuff going down right now...

Thanks for all the calls, emails, voicemails, PMs and postings. Dad is much better... near death experience has put some fight in him... he is at 95 pounds and started eating because the doctor said he wouldn't operate till he is at 125... not even close to being "out of the woods" but on the right track... I had an emotional break down Friday night  and decided to do the TDE event to clear my head... this is the first weekend I didn't drive but felt my concentration would suffer and didn't want to endanger myself or others :? ...

thanks again
