what else did you guys expect?
Mitch verified the unsealing since Michael Mosty didnt show.
i had to make a total of 5 pulls. on pulls 2 and 3 we got a major spike and put my TQ numbers at 336 and 356 each for those two pulls. we made two more pulls to get 2 more clean pulls and thats why you see 5 pulls here. once he got ready to print them out and changed it from Speed to RPM on the chart, the spiked numbers changed to read like normall clean pulls. these were pulls numbered 11 and 12. of the three races, the lightest i came in was 3244. well over for the numbers i have.

the dyno graph is attached.

thanks to Mitch for wasting his whole day to help me get this done.

ok so congratulations Glenn......but this begs the question.....the magic 237 hp and 307 tq numbers are measured at the rear wheel correct? going to dyno my car pretty soon so I'm just curious.

GlennCMC70

i know of no other way to use the required DynoJet 248.
and in no way would i shoot for the 237/307 numbers. feel free to do so, but you will get your ass handed to you for a very long time.
the 7 extra HP will require you to carry 100 extra pounds and well as the 7 extra TQ. so w/ 237/307 numbers, you will have to be 3350 minimum weight w/ a 3rd gen.

so do you shift at like 4500 rpm? No wonder you are so slow! That torque curve is almost depressing!

What's really depressing is that you are only 2.5 seconds faster with all that HP, TQ , DF and tire.

Glenn and Mitch,
Sorry for not showing up at the dyno. With the discussion going on about who could "witness" the unsealing of the hood and since Mitch was going to be there, I didn't think you needed me anymore. I should have called you to verify your intentions but didn't, totally my fault.
I hope it didn't delay things too bad for ya'll. Again, I'm sorry. :(

At cresson...go to TWS and it's more like 6 seconds and 4 to 5 seconds at Houston. Given track lengths, 2.5 at the shorter Cresson sounds about right. It also takes about the same gap in equipment to better our times by those margins yet again so the math apparently works! Not really seeing a big gain from the CMC2 cars over CMC with the added power (oh, where are the manties?!). ;)

Besides, watching all the CMC vids as of late, you guy's cars seem a hell of a lot more forgiving at the limit than our cars. In CMC it seems like you can hang the tail and get it wrong and STILL do OK. In AI, the knife edge is just that. Once it's gone, you're done! Press reset!

Either way, that torque curve is depressing! ;) Would be nice if you guys could build a "Camaro GT" and get a better motor that can breath in the upper RPM's...What would be interesting is seeing burch's or Wirtz's graph overlaid onto Glenn's and see how they compare. Can you put a TPI 305 in a 4th gen for CMC?

you do realize your poking fun at the TQ curve of an LT1 that is 100% stock and has a plate on it w/ twin 31mm holes in it? lets see what your Mod Motor does w/ that same plate.
i could pull the plate and surely best your AI times.

Still got the same tire ... if a 3200lb car can spin'em at 230/300 ...
But, my personal bests have dropped dramatically. So it does seem to help this mediocre driver.

But let me understand ... a 40% increase in HP/TQ, 25% increase in tire contact patch, 50% increase in DF gets me a 5% DECREASE in lap times?

Aren't statistics great?

I,m certainly not taking up for Matt but try adding H/P to an airplane. Lets say a plane has 100 H/P......double it to 200 and you will pick up a few miles per hour but doubling the power will no where near double the speed. Obviously the cleaner the airplane the more it will improve but it's not close to one to one.
Is there a way to figure how much faster a car should be with added power, less weight, larger tire assuming everything else is the same?

It's like going from a 13 second quarter mile to a 10 second quarter mile... takes a bunch more than it did to get from 16 to 13.

We all have our opinions and places where we like to race. I've driven the entire spectrum (at least it feels like it) with the evolution of my car. The current setup is MUCH easier to drive. However, as Matt put it, once is goes wrong and the aero or something else gets disrupted, you just hang on for a minute until the car collects itself.

Then quit yer bitchin' about restrictors and do it! Been hearing the same shit for 3 years....you afraid or somethin'?! :P Uncork the fugger, put some 17's on it, hell I might GIVE you my old scrubs and let's see what that mullet machine can do in AI. I'm curious and anxious to see you prove me wrong.

Mitch, I know your just fun'n around but Glenn just opens the door every time he starts talking about restrictors as if THAT's the reason. Hell, I am running AI with only 301 cubes and stock heads, nothing exotic here except the crank and that is even out of a used drag motor!

Ah, guess we will never know!

More excuses! You said pull the restrictor ONLY and you could better our times... Now you want to be at min weight too? How bout' we bolt a wing on that mullet wagon too?

Sit down in a cushy, NON LEATHER chair and muffle all that talkin' out of your ass!  :P

Besides, I have "been tell'n ya" for 3 years to put your money where mouth is... :P

I will give you this much...haven't seen a mis-spelled word in a while!

I figure if I keep it up, you might eventually cave in and come to AI. Hell, it only took two years of giving John shit for him to come back. I think you will be a tougher egg to break though.

Well, if someone would rent one for a reasonable amount, yeah. Just not in the cards on my very limited budget this year. Had I sold my car in December, I was going to make Wayne an offer on his car but decided to put an end to the "what if's" and go to nats....one way or another.

Besides, if all it takes is for you to "pull the restrictor", seems that a hell of a lot easier than buying a whole new car...

Shall I scan a few recent targets from the range? I have one that smiles at you from 25 yards....well, it's more of a slanted smirk! I only go to the range about 20 times a year... I am also looking to get into some competitive shooting events.

Just because I work for the post office doesn't mean I spray and pray. Besides, Glenn has a HUGE target on his shoulders for an easy shot!

Matt, i'm a documented Rifle Expert at 500 METERS. 25 yards..... ha, you would never even see it coming.

and yes, open sight M-16 that was wore the F out before i ever set my hands on it.
5.56mm round.
rifle qual consists of 200 meter standing, 300 meter kneeling, 500 meter prone.

25 yards..... wow.

Your head will be plenty large at 20 PACES...with PISTOLS... Nothing about rifles or 500 meters! I can't believe you even brought in the metric system to this conversation...STANDARD UNITS PLEASE!!!!

Wow, and I thought I was bad...

Glenn pulls in the lead, ohh wait here comes Matt down the straight, neck and neck going into turn 6, Matt pulls ahead, but Glenn late brakes Matt on the inside turn 7...

Hey Glenn, you should just run your car in AI, since it's not 100% CMC legal yet... have you fixed your tint?

That's at the BOTTOM of my list of concerns! ;) Now if I can just find me some good video for M.O. to get to know the track, then I will be one step closer....oh, and brakes... Not like I have needed it lately anyway! It's actually been VERY relaxing not having to deal with a significant other as of late. No regular phone calls, no sleeping over at her place and getting up early to go home, shower and go to work, NO BULLSHIT or whining, no "date nights' and the house has never been cleaner! Lot's of attention for the racecar though with a lot of pending ideas to make it faster...just need to find the funds and energy to go work on it. Although, I honestly feel like I have aged 10 years in the last 18 months....
