View Full Version : I made the blood sacrifice at the altar of my Camaro

I was working on my car today and made a big mistake.

The front bumer/nose had came loose at the bumper. It is just some plastic push in pins that hold the bottom to the nose to the bumper.

I was laying under the car attemping pull the pin out of the bumper, when my pliers I was using slipped and I jabbed myself in the eye.

My first thought was that I had just lost that eye and was afraid to open it. Some blood was leaking out onto my shirt I used to wipe my eye with.

I came in and showed the wife and she sort of freaked as the white of my eye was now all red.

She made me go to her office and she dyed my eye and looked at under a lamp and even showed it to me with a mirror.

Big laceration from mid point of my eye across and the eye. She is making me go see the eye doctor tomorrow.

Luckily I do have vision...somewhat blurred in that eye right now, but it should make a full recovery.

On a side note... I added a new car to the stable this weekend. I bought a used Chevy Cobalt - cobalt blue for a daily driver. The gas for my truck as a daily driver was killing me.

Good golly! Very happy you are gonna survive.
Nice to have her around huh?
You might wanna get one of those med-alert fobs to page her.

Ow! That's gotta hurt.
Good thing Easter was just last weekend and that Pez dye was still laying around the kitchen!

When does the Cobalt supercharger get installed? Congrats on the mini-rocket...I'm a big proponent of the boy-racer for a daily driver vs. pickup truck.

It is okay... I am at work today just patched up. Not much can be done, but let it heal.

It feels like a rock is under my eye lid, but otherwise I am doing okay.

Mitch, you are a sick...sick man!

James, glad you will be ok man! I saw some nasty "scare" videos in shop class in HS and the eye ones were the worst!

Just be glad it happened a full 3 weeks prior to the event so you can heal and work on your new voice!

A bunch of comedians in this place.

BTW.. I am at work today with no patch....although I probably should still have one. My eye is still swollen and tearing up a bunch....but it is not really hurting.

That sounded nasty James. Eye patches aren't that bad. I had to wear one a few times. I have a titanium plate under my eye after a boat wreck in a poker run. Kind of miss the double and triple vision I used to have especially after a few beers.
Who was the nascar driver who had a bad wreck and lost his eyesight in one eye but still came back and raced a few times? You need to take over his number.

JB-one of those 911 necklaces isn't a bad idea. I tend to always do the most dangerous stuff around the house when the wife is away. I knew a guy who was working on a 55 Chevy that fell off the jack and pinned him under ht 55. He lived but had to wait for several hours until someone found him.

Anyone remember Davey Allison being in a crash at Daytona, rolling the car over once, drove to the pits, new tires, and took the green flag without losing a lap? I think I may have stop to check my shorts...at least!
