i dont really mind. i've been racing for 3+ years now and had my toys. i want to keep racing more than i want my toys. my wife deserves i car to drive other than a 8 year old 2500 HD 4x4 and its the only car of the 4 we had she could drive. so when i was in it, she was stuck at home. now she has a nice car and it was long overdue.

i'll be doing really good to get half of what i have in the 98Z.

And that's the nature of a "toy".

When I sold my 86 GT, I was lucky to get ~1/3 of what I had into it.

I am trying to convince my wife to buy a G8 when her lease is up on her Honda next year.

I hate to see you sell the Z....but I understand and have seriously considered selling my street car since it is just in the way in my shop.

The only reason I haven't is that a 96 Z28 isn't worth crap.

Post it for sale on LS1Tech.com.

According to Tony, these are collectable cars ...

You know there are some of us that are not "old" yet  and still are able to have toys. If you guys would like your cars to go to "good homes" I see a "racers toy for sale" thread in our future.

I know I can't afford Glenn's (a.k.a. really nice custom car)

Proctor....you interested in selling yours?

Apparently i don't have enough F-bodies yet (down to 2)

Nice Glenn. I have also been looking at the G8 for a new family car to replace the wifes GTP. I got to sit in one at the Houston NHRA and liked it alot.

As for a toy sale, I might need to add my C5 Z06....

Have him just look at the selling price and you find quickly....it is worth more to sit the shop and than sell it. :(

Not really... It is just worth more to me than it is worth on the market. I toyed with the idea a few times and even told a few folks locally, but the offers were very low.

Should be a real nice grocery getter. Kind of funny that your wifes street car has 100 more hp than your race car.

Ls1tech/Tony-He must have been trying to sell one at the time. But if he was buying he would tell you it isn't worth anything.

there are no manual G8's. in '09 the G8 GXP will be offered w/ a 6 speed. the GXP will be a 6.2 LS3 car.
this one (G8 GT) is a 6.0 ltr 6L80E 6 speed auto. it only has 2.92 rear gear w/ independant rear. it clocks in at 4000 lbs curb weight. but dont let that fool you, its very quick. there is talk on the G8 boards of a G8 GT already running 11's w/ just bolt on's. i havent had a chance to run it thru some corners, but so far it does feel very balanced and rides about perfect - a good balance between a daily and a kid hauler and a sporty car. its rated for 87 octain, so theres a ton of room in the tune for power on 93. i've been told these L76 LS motors are very under cam'ed from the factory. it has a 100,000 mile 5 year drivetrain waranty, so it will be 5 years before i do a cam for it. this one will get a very mild cam, no lopey stuff for this one.

i like the interior. i forget im in a GM car. in fact the only part of the whole car that says GM is the nose. other than that, you wouldnt recongnize it as a GM.
its fully loaded less the Sport Package (19" wheels) and sunroof.
the leather is very nice. the seats are very comfy and there is a ton of rear passenger room along w/ a masive trunk.

remember guys - this is the wifes car.

GM finally did a good job on a 4 door. I checked it out last night and went for a quick ride. It is definitely fast but is very smooth. It wouldn't spin a tire and the shifts are pretty soft. Interior is real sano and sweet. I was impressed with how much room was in the backseat and the trunk for babyseats and strollers. Of course I came home and started thinking about one.

Based on the G8 sedan, the two-door Sport Truck is a revival of sorts of the Chevy El Camino and Ford Ranchero that were two-seat cars upfront and light-duty pickups in back. The front styling is the same as the sedan's, but the truck's roof, doors and body panels are unique from the center pillar to the rear.

The only engine will be the 6-liter V-8 used in the G8 GT sedan. The cargo bed is 74 inches long and comes with a composite liner. Payload is 1,074 pounds and towing capacity is 3,500. The truck is due out in late 2009 as 2010 model, and like the G8 sedan it will be built in Australia.

Glad I waited ...

Any more thoughts on the G8 Glenn?

My dad is in the market for a new car. He thinks he has narrowed it down to these 3. Accord V6, Mazda 6, or a Pontiac G8 GT.

It is mainly for my dad to drive, but it will be an auto so that my mum can drive it too. My mums only other requirements is that it has a min 6-way power adjustable drivers seat and heated seats. :D

Right, because Ford is doing much better right about now. It'll be interesting to see if Pontiac survives thought....

just got back at 3am from a 2400 mile round trip in it.
at 65 MPH it knocks down 27-29 MPG. at 80 its 21 MPG.
i used 1/2 a tank (19 gal tank) from Odesa to here running the speed limit.
the seats are very comfy. lots of room in the rear seats too. very large truck also. the things rides really good, a little soft for a guy like me, but pretty good. handles very nice.
the motor is just crazy w/all the power/tq. way more than a car like this needs. i get thumbs up all the time from people.
its got like 3700 miles on it now and i still really like it.

plus...... it would make a really cool AI car.
