The guy trys to install the new T2R and the housing is bent! Bent real bad. So it's off to the junkyard first thing in the AM. I thought I was going to install it tomorrow and get finished with my other upgrades. Now this. I wish I had never bought this POS. What a deal this cheap ass car was.

IIRC, Eric put some camber in the housing. When you say "bent", what exactly are you referring to?

Eric told me he DID NOT put camber in that rear end. It certainly looked like it but he told me he did not do it. All I know is the guy installing the T2R said he had trouble removing the axle now after installing the diff he can't get the axle back in.

Jerry,

Here is an 8.8 in the austin craigslist:

Not cheap, but you could sell the axles and posi if do not need them to recover a few of the dollars.

Thanks Chuck but I found several at junk yards for $250.00 I was wanting to find a way to fix this one since I already paid to install the new diff. There are places that fix them but I don't know about someone in Austin. I tried all day and did not move it a hair. It's bent bad. about 1/2 inch!

Just curious if you had checked the alignment? Was it S bent or camber bent?

It's camber bent but way more than what is allowed in the rulebook and it's only on the drivers side.

i'll bet money it was from the TWS contact in T1 Eric had back in 2006 that almost flipped him.
left rear tire to right front tire.

Had I known about that I would not own this POS!

.00000002 here

I checked the car after that incident (BTW.. it was 08/2005) and many times through out the year when setting up different configurations in the suspension.

1. Rear Camber was never more than .5* on either side

2. Diff in left side front axle center hub to rear axle center to right side was 1/8"

3. Installed different gear set (twice) since that incident with no issues

4. Installed different differential since the incident with no issues

5. Won many races or placed in top 3 many.. many.. many times since before/after that incident

6. I can't speak for anything that might have happened since the car was sold. No telling what might have happened since then.

Only here to clear the air regarding this post and my only response.
