Intake to pan, no accessory drive. 85,000 miles from wrecked Explorer. Guy was driving to work daily till last week and got it from his insurance company to part out. Would this work for CMC? He's asking $500 and is pulling this weekend.

PM me if interested.

there was a year that had the GT40 Heads... then after that it was the GT40P's... only the GT40's would be good for CMC...

I don't remember the years...

as long as the part numbers match up for a Mustang, the source does not matter. i'm almost 100% the short block is legal.

He's an old ford guy and assures me they are GT40's and are NOT P heads. It also has the GT40 intake to go with it that you could sell off and recoup money.

"P" heads did not come out until 1997

Unless your friend put a GT40 intake on it, the upper intake on the Explorers were NOT GT40. The lower will mate up to a GT40 though.

The explorers also didn't have EGR in the intake as well as no provision for an EGT sensor.

I think that is what he meant...said something about only having to buy the upper for the car....I figured they were the same but the TB neck was 180 out...?

either way the long block is a good buy...just change out the valve covers to be CMC legal! :P

This sounds like a good buy but where to put it until you need it.
