there you go.....you're saving $48. :D

Sorry, Jerry. I'll hold out a little longer.

No problem at all. For me to buy something used (even if it has never been used) I need to be able to save 30 to 50 percent or I will buy new.
Saving $50.00 is still a good deal and I'm sure someone will jump on it. I bet you sell it fast in this heat! If I don't purchase or make something before Hallett I will be back with the Ziplock bags of ice inside my driving suit.

JJ,
the 1st HOT race you ever run with a cool shirt, you're gonna be disappointed in yourself for not getting one sooner.

If ambient is 80 or greater, I put mine in.
Plus it's weight at the back of the car.
I didn't pop for the lightweight mount as I needed to fab up a heavier duty one.

Is this the best coolsuit brand or setup??
What size does a large fit? I wouldn't wear the same size as Jerry. I'm 5'8" 165.
What about mounting it? Can I put it in at the track Friday morning???

It will be a thrash ...

Mounting the box is not hard, but will take some effort to ensure it's done safely and properly.

Same goes for the feed and return lines.

The electrical portion is the time eater.

I'm thinking eyebolts and using a ratcheting tie down to mount it?

Can I zip tie the lines to the rollcage to get them to me?

Wiring-thinking of hooking it to the battery since it will likely be mounted next to it. So a good ground is right there. Then run a wire, zip tied to the battery cable to a 10 amp mounted switch by the battery cutoff in arms reach.

Suggestions?? Looking to do some prepwork on it this week.

Rachet strap is good. I bolted the strap through the webbing with big, flat washers.

Ziptie-ing the lines could pinch the lines and restrict flow. Be careful. I used Adel clamps.

For Hallett, direct wiring might be OK. But the electrical needs to have a disconnect on it so that you can take the cooler in and out.

I used a flat four trailer connector so I can take the cooler in and out. Ugly but it works.

And you use the other 2 conductors for the nitrous bottle heater, right?

Jeff, that doesn't look strong enough. I think you should fill in the "bottom" of it with some 3/4" steel plate!

Thanks for the tips. For the lines I just wanted something to hold them in place and not be tight.
Didn't even think about having a disconnect. Pretty sure I have an unused trailer plug somewhere.
Thanks for the dimensions JB-now I can predrill the holes for eyebolts leftover from the passenger racing belt install.
I'll pick up a switch to mount. Specific wire gauge needed?

I gotta have all the help I can get. Who left who in the dust at TWS last time down the front straight? Maybe the bottle was empty?

My old mount was a 48# plate - new rules encourage a lighter mounting configuration.

Didn't the Cool Suit come with a mount plate?

Back to the coolsuit. It arrived today-thanks for shipping so quick Brooks.
Need to tighten the eyebolts with someone else helping and its mounted in place. Lines shouldn't be a big deal with a few zip ties to hold them in place. With the water in them they shouldn't move that much.

There is a relay in there, do most people wire up the relay or just a switch to a 12v source?

I'm ready to fill mine with margarita for the last race and stay out for a couple extra cool down laps.

Rob-it didn't come with a mount.

BL,

No time this week but just rig it up enough to make it through the weekend and I will make you a mount prior to the next event. My laser and punches are too backed up today to try and run one for you.
