I have had some R888 requests and now I have some answers...

Vilven will not have tire inventory until 2009. I have gone a different route. These tires are not shaved. I have been told by several Toyo distributors that the shaving will produce an ultimate fast lap time. However they will fall off very quickly in six heat cycles. Based on the current information I am recommending full tread R888s for those who do not want to purchase tires every six or so sessions.

Toyo has put in effect a new price for their entire product line that was effective the first of November. The list prices are as follows:

Full Tread-
AI - 275/35-18 (18"x9.5")- $358each
AI/CMC2 (17"x9.5")- 275/40-17 - $208each
CMC2 (17"x9") - 255/40-17 - $202each
CMC/CMC2 (16"x8")- 255/50-16 - $222each

There is still some RA1s floating around out there for those who want those. Might make a better rain tire, if they can be run?

I have a deal in the works that can provide savings on these numbers. I will not have any inbound freight charges to pass on. I will have to charge outbound freight.

All those interested please email or PM me on this. I will be a more consistent R888 tire supplier in the future! I have found a way around the rumored supply problems!

Thanks for the info and PLAN to be a supplier for us AJ! Much appreciated and I cannot fathom how the hell Vilven can get tires till 09'?! Amazing.

Thanks Matt, It is not that Vilven cant get the tires, it is that they are choosing not to... Vilven is still a great supplier and does the best shave job in the country! I think they are just geared for World Challenge support and it will be a while until they start back up...

I will be posting some shaved prices this week...

Debate is still on whether to run exclusively shaved R888s or not?

Stay tuned.

I saw that in the new rules last night... Wish I had known before I suggested 255/17s to Chuck.

I will edit the first post.

I am gearing up for the March 14-15th event here at MSR-C. PM or Email me your requests!

Tire prices posted in original post are still good. Shaved tires are $10 more per tire. There will also be shipping added to shaved orders.

Thanks for your support thus far this year! It was good to see many of you at MSRH.

Thanks for the response on the tires for MSR-C!

I just recieved in a large amount of the new HANS Quick Click tethers. This thether package is both a quick disconnect as well as a sliding tether. I remember some asked about it at the 2007 Season Banquet last year.

What's the price to replace or upgrade from an existing sliding tether setup?
