When I was doing my usual under car inspection and Nut-N-Bolting ritual, I noticed a wet spot on the inside of the left rear rim. Closer inspection found a leaking axle seal.
So today I begin the task of replacing it.
The locking bolt that keeps the T2R "biscuit" in place was rounded of. :x I destroyed the head getting it out.
I go to O'Reilly's and get a seal and they tell me the bolt is a dealer item. So I figure I'll just see.
I put the bolt on the counter and without saying a word, the parts guy rattles off a part number, walks to the back and emerges with a brand new one. The price was $1.84 after tax.
And to top it all off, I saw Richard Dickey and he is talking like he might come back to play with us this year. He still has his AI 3rd gen.
So, let this be a lesson to you rookies ...
If you round off your head, a counter guy will charge you $1.84 to replace it and you can meet Mr. Dickey.
