You can take the front guard/arm off the bus and mount it on the side of your race car to keep Matt from passing you.

he would think it was a pointby and go around... thinking the popout "STOP" sign might work better...

gotta decide if I'm gonna paint bus to match car or vise-versa

That's going to be a loooong trip at 65mph top speed with your foot on the floor. Maybe you could but a Duramax drivetrain in it!!

When my cousin was running TransAm in the 60s and 70s, he used a converted school bus. Took out all the seats past the first 4 rows, built a little wall around a portapotty, and rigged some hammocks for napping/sleeping. He cut the entire back end, and then put it on hinges; I think it dropped down. Used some long 2 x 12s, multiple, as ramps, and drove his Mustang up into the back.

It was a complete hoot. I'll ask him if he has any pictures.

Once I have my paws on it I am going to look into highway gears and cruise control...

Left Hallett at 2:00 pm on Sunday... arrived home in Tomball at 8:00 am on Monday... WOW.. Jason did An outstanding job driving home with the fully loaded Dodge pulling the car through the back roads in Arkansas...

The bus was in a cow pasture in the middle of the Ozarks!!! Anybody ever drive through the Ozarks??? Try it with a heavy loaded 3/4 ton truck pulling a wide car trailer...

Driving a big ass bus through the back woods of Arkansas with your 18 yo driving your truck and trailer right behind... I have never been so nervous in all my life...

The whole trip was an adventure not soon forgotten...

You are so right... I wish we would have had the time to document the trip.. the Ozarks are beautiful and the drive was scary with the car in tow at speeds of 60+... I should have shot the cow pasture where the bus was "stored"... the engine bay was infested with spiders...

I was very worried about the overall condition and the fact that I was going to be driving all the way back to Houston... all the fluids looked good, the tires are in decent shape and it had a current inspection sticker... Biggest concern, of course, was brakes... no way to check them and it was a long trip... it was used in a school district in the mountians so it is geared VERY low (I can walk faster than it can roll at top rev in 1st) which makes 60 top speed... took 11 hours with only 3 short fuel stops and 2 30 min naps that Jason was smart enough to suggest...

Sooo...I'm lost David. Probably a product of being away or Mitch would say it's a genetic defect or something.

What's the plan for this Love Bus?
Tow vehicle/camper?
Gutted car hauler?
Partridge Family Clone?

Can we have a Texas AI/CMC painting party with free creativity rights?

If you only knew... Jason and I discussed the stop sign almost immediately we were giggling like little school girls (pun intended) at the thought of mounting the sign on the car...

reverse theme, instead of matching the bus with the race car... match the car to the bus

Frank... I'll hold off on painting the bus if you paint the 3 series yellow and black for lemons... the bus has a half bench we could put on the passenger side and mount a full bench in the rear... trigger the stop sign when we hit the brakes... hinge the pass door to fold in the middle

Turning 50 isn't as big of a deal as I thought.

Now 40 ... that was a bitch. It's the beginning of the end. It's terrible to realize you can no longer do the things you once could.

so for those of you about to turn 50 or close to it, it's not a big deal.

For those of you about to reach 40 ... OMG ... I pray for your mental health.
