Hey guys, my business has really blown up here recently and wanted to offer my services to anyone who might have other projects than your race car that might benefit from a little powdercoating. Obviously NASA racers will get a hefty discount and I would even be willing to trade services for parts for the car. Let me know if I can be of service.

Who's going to be the first to run the black 3rd gen Camaro wheels with the white spokes?

(Nice stuff....wish I still had my '67 project. :cry: )

Those have a home already, This is the car that I take to shows to drum up business.

Couldn't bring myself to do just straight black, everybody has those, Even a polished lip would have been to cliche' on a street car. It's an Ex-DPS interceptor so we stayed with the "Black and White" theme :)

Looks REALLY cool when it's rolling! What do ya'll think. Got another set that I'm planning on doing a different scheme and open for ideas. :)

Ross and I have discussed many MANY ideas on "custom" companies over the years... One of the early conversations we had was about racing against each other someday... funny how things turn out...
He is a very talented artist in his own "custom" way... The man knows his hotrods... I am happy to see him doing something he truely loves!
Now about that racing thing????

Thanks Brother! Working on the racing part. Those "Projects" that were holding me up look like they may be worked out by the end of next week!

So, not to derail the thread, but once upon a time there were threads around not powder coating wheels due to potentially elevated temperatures being used in the process. Ross, you have a comment so guys know its ok to do so for tracking wheels? What does it cost to do a set of 4 in one color?

This question has actually come up many times. I have contacted CCW, BBS and HRE on the subject and they all use powdercoating for their wheels. Apparently 90 percent of the wheels on newer cars are powder coated instead of painted. The Auto industry has really caught on to the durability of this stuff.

With that being said, the only issue that has come up is the two and three piece wheels. If the temperature is not controlled accurately then you can run into warpage in the barrels. One piece wheels will not do this. I was still not convinced even after talking to some "experts" so before I did the wheels on the white car I spun them on a tire balancing machine. After they were coated, repeated the process and did not change the balance. I've run these wheels for around three weeks now at speeds up to 125 and have had no issues or vibrations.

A set of four wheels in a single color usually runs around $200, will do it for $130-$150 depending on the prep involved. If they're chrome they have to be stripped first, that usually runs around 20-30/wheel. 2 and 3 piece wheels are more.

I can usually take out the majority of curb rash and other imperfections as well. They come out looking brand new. Had a guy the other day ask me who made the wheels on the Camaro......I said GM...... LOL

And YES the sign is Powder coated :) had a lot of people swear it was paint :roll:
