While we're on the subject of news ...

James? want to elaborate?

http://www.upi.com/Top_News/2009/07/22/Race-protests-to-continue-in-Paris-Texas/UPI-29801248294444/

I lived in Lubbock in the late 60s and there were a lot of anti-war protests going on at Texas Tech campus. Marches, sit-ins and even a few skirmishes.

To a 12 year old, it was kind of scary to see a row of cops with billy clubs and shields congregating and then marching down the street.

Some really extremely ignorant people involved with this whole fiasco.

Short as possibly part of the story.... Three long time buddies (one black, one white, one hispanic) are riding around drinking beer. Apparently they get into an argument about each being too drunk to drive. The black guy is either forced out of the truck or leaves to walk on his own, (still unsure).

The black guy is found dragged to death next day.

White guy and other guy are suspects and arrested for the murder of the black guy. The white guy already has a past history of manslaughter in an "accidental killing" of another friend. So obviously he is prime suspect this time.

However, a gravel truck driver stepped forward and said he thinks he ran over the black guy. Thus all charges against the other two were dropped.

Anyway, the racial groups were wanting this to be charged as a race hate crime, which race had no role even he was killed by his white buddy. It was just murder at that time.

So...then the charges were dropped, the race groups have been staging rallies saying that blacks can't get fair justice in Paris.

Now the protest have drawn more ignorant people from the kkk to protest against the protest.

BTW...notice most of the effing protesters aren't even from Paris...they are from Tarrant County.

Hey James...did anything ever come out of that fire at the shelter behind the post office a few months back? someone was saying it "had to be arson" and those people were murdered...???

I was there at the PO as the smoke was still going and the investigation crew arrived and was still setting up. Pretty nasty looking stuff...

Not deemed arson, but the shelter was sited for many fire code violations and investigations and possible charges forthcoming.

It really is a bad deal when you think about it. These guys had no other place to stay, but it was not a safe place. The owner had great intentions, but not enough money to make it safe.

Thank, guys! Was kinda fun and I couldn't pass up the opportunity for the school.

Took the reporter for a ride in Jake Hennig's GTS2 car and it jumped timing (we think). Had to coast it in, but McAdams loved the ride.

Misty, if you really want to make an impression, let Todd Covini-who give the reporters rides. Hell, Leinart's still talkin' about his ride.

Oh, if it rains, Leinart has promised a repeat of his Igloo Skiing for those who missed it the first time.
