As part of a community awareness campaign, we have been informed by the Army Aviation Flight Test Directorate that they will be executing a developmental test of systems onboard the new C-27J Joint Cargo Aircraft. Part of the testing requires data collection during low level flights through the Houston area.
The reported plan is to fly the C-27J through the Houston area at altitudes ranging from 1,000-3,000 ft AGL during the week of October 12th through 17th. There will be no danger to the general public; however, seeing a large plane flying at a low altitude could cause alarm.
