Starting to love my T-10... $1,300 NEW and has lasted 3 years, through at least 40 weekends... Average cost @ $35/weekend

T-5... $800 REBUILT and only lasted 4 weekends... Average cost $200/weekend

Dang David, sorry to hear. I wish I could help but the only transmission I have blown up is Marshall's.

David,
The T-5 fifth is separate from the cluster and main shaft, so it shouldn't be too costly of a rebuild. Someone may even have a stock 5th gear... I'll check if I have one, if you are interested.

I have recently rebuilt T-5 with a stock 5th ready to go in... I have a blowed up T-5 with the RR 5th that I MIGHT be able to use in the one that just lost 5th (I don't know much bout trannies but I heard that If you still have reverse then it might just be the 5th gear)... If I manage to be successful switching the gear then I will tackle a complete rebuild on the blowed up one complete with the RR 5th... then on to the 2 ford models that also need a rebuild.... And if all that works out as planned, I may have a new career...

Not that I ever had bad luck with T5's, but I'm glad to have done the TKOII swap awhile back.

Just a reminder that the Ford and the Chevy T5 fifth gears have a different spline count and are not interchangeable...

If that's my old RR 5th it is the APW slip fit.
Easy on/off.

yep, except over the hump for the speedo gear... had to whammer on it :(

The cluster is a cluster f@ck and the 3rd gear slider is toast... gonna try and switch out the RR gear into the "Painter" tranny, tonight...

Chris: I have two Ford T5s, so I'm still interested....
