The one and only. Holy crap, is tech day always a long one. Don't follow the goldbird too long or you'll go blind from smog. See ya out there.

Team "Blue Balls" (Misty, Matt, Michael and Chris) are in 1st going into today. Michael commented that the car feels great and runs a clean 5 seconds a lap faster than the Schwingmobile...

If they keep their racing clean and the car survives, they should come home with the win!!!

not clear due to :

E30s? Miatas? Supras? Forget 'em! With Day One of the '10 Gator-O-Rama LeMons in the books, the standings are dominated by a group of cars that brings tears of joy to our eyes!

In first place, with 199 laps, is the Team Blue Ball Dodge Neon. Not a huge shock there, since a Neon has taken an overall LeMons win in the past (Altamont Spring '07), but it's still good to see Detroit on top

that was end of Day 1...

Got a text from Misty: "2nd place; least horrible yank tank; the good class winner"

Not sure what it all means... reads like the series rules...

Oooph....2nd overall would play right into their theme of Team Blue Balls.

Team SLAP has 2nd fastest time of the Top 50....that's gotta be good for something.

Dang, it's not that confusing. :)
Short version b/c I'm tired:
We got 2nd and a Taurus SHO won (we thought for sure it would blow up).
Huge thanks to Misty for the opportunity to drive the Neon, the car was a blast as well as the event!!
Oh also, 4 cars rolled on seperate occasions this weekend. Everyone is ok but the two incidents I saw were spectacular!!

Lots of fun!!!!

An old starter (head soaked) led to our demise later on in the day when one of our drivers spun and it wouldn't restart.. without a rolling jump start from the tow vehicle.

Dropped from 7th to 52nd..then back up to 39th over all.

Second fastest time out of 128 cars. Was still a blast and looking forward to doing it again!!! 20 gal fuel cell this time. :D

Gratz Team Blue Balls!!! Heck of a show out there in the Neon!!!! Was fun watching it from the stands.

Some interesting stats:

359 black flags

4 cars on their roofs

2 cars on fire

No one hurt -

The hundreds that showed up to watch had a blast with all the action going on non-stop for hours and hours.

Great to see the SLAP team out there with their big v8 mustang that they found in a swamp from Katrina.

That was a pretty sweet lookin #20 Home Repo Mustang w/ a front splitter and bLinG wing.

Jared, what happened to the T-bird? It looked like your car had been through a battle!!!

Jrod

It'll buff out.
The car got loose just before the back straight and the Junk Punch mustang was on the outside. The gigundo fiberglass bumper caved in his front fender and ripped off the door latch and a chunk of quarter panel.
Our kmember and suspension was ok, but everything forward of that took up residence about four inches to the left. Luckily it didn't go back so the fan hit the shroud but not the radiator. Car drove fine after that, until it got wet.
I'd love to think the 205/50 run flats (that then changed to dry rot specials) are what kept looping the car, but maybe I'm just that crappy in the rain...

You guys were flyin; I think you were lapping us about every fourth time around on sunday. Well done lady and gents.
