recommend me a dyno shop that is open on Sat or Sun towards this side of town, I might travel a bit more if I have to though

I just need 2-3 pulls to get a number to know where I'm at relative to the 125whp cap I've been given for my TT/PT car classing.

- KB, who would've done it at the track if it wasn't $125+tax (which is a good hourly price  )

Check with HPE.. on Perry @ 1960

I did it at the track... I never asked what it cost... I need to look at the receipt

Do you wanna try for a Marvel Team-Up? I need to have my dyno run again since my heads were rebuilt.

I called Horse Power Engineering and they can do a Sat. AM, March 27th dyno day for $60/car if we get 10 cars. Sounds like we might have four right now. Anyone else?

Alien/Gary pm'd me earlier and said he has 2 he'd like to dyno if it helped get a shop to open on Sat.

Sounds like 6

I can probably get some TTers, MR2 guys, or just some more cars period if need be. Let me know and I'll get the word out!

Thanks Ken. Go ahead and get the word out. All I need to do is call HPE and tell them we can round up at least 10 for Sat AM.

should be able to get up to 10 :) I've got a few more boards I can hit if those don't get us enough people

The dyno-day is tentatively scheduled to begin at 10am, Saturday, March 27th at HPE. If anyone else is interested in participating, please let me know. I will be providing Austin with a head count before our dyno-day so that they can plan their resource requirements accordingly.

I'm in for at least 2 cars, Sky and Trans Am.

I need to get a few good consistant pulls on the Sky. Hopefully one that doesn't start at 4k rpm or one that has a loop in it this time. After last dyno day, the Saturn dealership told us the tune was correctly installed and may it wasn't dyno'd correctly.

Surely a turbo automatic car isn't THAT difficult to dyno.

If that is the Mike Bell formerly of the AI crowd, remind him of how girly and wimpy Miatas are and how cool and manly AI/CMC cars are. :)

Gary tells me we've got another Mustang joining - puts us up to 8.

I think it needs double checked... your street Mustang as well ;)

If I need more track time I think that the Camaro will just make it into TTC!

The Mustang will probably be posted for sale as a track toy with tire trailer and extra wheels soon.

So Gents,

How are is everyone looking for Saturday? I know its only Tuesday, but wanted to confirm who plans to show up and # of cars. If we can't put together 10 dynos, we have two choices: 1.) Reschedule, or 2.) Chip in to make up the difference. Let me know if you're in, # of cars, and which of the two options you prefer if we can't make 10.

By the way, if we have 8 (factoring in David & Gary are bringing in two cars), that's only $20 more each and that's still the cheapest Saturday dyno in town.

I'm definitely in unless it pushes north of $100.

Quick oil change, throw new plugs in, and the car is ready :)

Alien

Well, considering they charge $75 for dyno pulls on a weekday, I'd rather reschedule. If it's going to be $80 a car, I'll only be bringing the Sky. If it gets to be more than that, I'll just do that myself on a Friday. The Trans Am can wait til next offseason.

kbrewmr2
03-23-2010, 11:26 AM
well that does raise a good point actually... they're open until 7pm, so I could always meet the car over there after work. I didn't realize it was just $75 normally without a group, $5ish is worth the convinence but much more than that and I'll deal with the hassle

kbrewmr2

got a "pretty sure" from an MR2 Turbo guy, just needs to get his shifts switched at work for Saturday... that'd be 9

way2neary
03-23-2010, 03:33 PM
Sounds like we're dying on the vine... I too did not know the dyno was only $75. Not much savings there other than the convenience of running on a Saturday.

kbrewmr2
03-23-2010, 04:37 PM
lets try and have a go/no-go pretty soon then...

little more advanced notice and I think we can pull it off... maybe get enough of a group that its a bit more of a discount too :)

Ok. I cancelled this weekend's dyno day. How would April 10th work? Would anyone be interested in doing a Saturday dyno day then? Same scenario, there would need to be at least 10 cars. Hopefully having a little more advanced notice will help.

Thx
Dave
