Looking for another truck and have seen a few mid 90s chevys for decent money.

Anything I should be looking for when shopping.

I'm assuming a 3/4 ton right? Towing open trailer? Tow vehicle only or daily as well?

I would get a 7.4 instead of the 5.7. Early 4L80E transmissions had some teething problems. 4x4 brakes are a pain to swap rotors. Dexcool likely caused a problem with the cooling system. Look at the coolant inlet on the intake-they corrode and cause problems. Radiator replaced, coolant leaking down the back of the block.
Bilstein shocks would be a good upgrade.

I have a 99 3/4 454 4x4 Suburban that I bought new. I would sell it to you if you are interested. Has 153k and hail damage. Black, grey leather, loaded. In great shape other than the cosmetic issues from the hail damage and Mitch rubbing his trailer up against it. Well maintained. I have replaced radiator, water pump, transfer case, turn signal, intake and valve cover gaskets, brake booster other than maintenance of plugs, wires, cap/rotor, fluids, brakes/rotors, etc.

Hope that helps.
