dude I never saw these pics, I'm glad your knee was the extent of your dmg... If you had only known I was going to dump my twin hatch...

Looks typical of an oil pump locking up... I have that looks like that too. :lol:

I actually still have the piston that is in the third picture. The big end of the rod broke completely off and the rod bent and twisted. The "tip" of the rod is black due to the break. The piston is cracked through, but held together with the wrist pin. There are six witness marks from one of the valves where the piston hit while it was turning... pretty cool.

I still remember the chill of that night, waiting to have the fire dept. crow bar the door open and take me to the ER with a severed patellar tendon and shattered lower knee cap.

The trim panel I hit was the stamped steel panel below the steering column. There was a nice "ding" mark that looked like a ball peen hammer hit it...

I have a couple old fenders and a bumpercover, should fix that front end right up.
