For those who have the 94/95 CMC2 cars, what intakes are you running (Cobra 93? 94-95?, Explorer, T-bird etc.)? Have there been any hood clearance issues?

Thanks.

Hey Rob

On my street 95 Mustang I run a '95 Cobra intake. With the intake extrude honed (sp?), 1.7 lifters, 65mm throttle body, shorty headers, and Superchip, it runs about 280 hp at rear wheels. Otherwise the motor is stock. With improved breathing, the max rpm improves to about 6,100. I think that is about where you want to be.

Hope that helps,
Dave

Rob, there were no hood clearance issues either.

Thanks Dave.

BTW - If anyone runs across a 94-95 Cobra intake, 79-93 Cobra intake, or even an Explorer 5.0 intake, please let me know. I'd really like to have the 94-94 Cobra piece.

I'm also looking for a 94-95 Cobra engine computer.

Thanks Dave.

BTW - If anyone runs across a 94-95 Cobra intake, 79-93 Cobra intake,Rob, you can buy mine -- I just have to find a TFS Track Heat intake for my car.

call me lazy, but this comes with all the bits and pieces... it seemed that everyone on ebay/craigslist loses the hard-to-find bolts but still want $300+ for their used intakes. No clearance issues with my '95 cobra hood.

Rob

The link Sam provided looks just like my intake. I forgot to mention that both the lower and upper intakes were extrude honed. I also have a MAF meter with a K&N filter. Also have an X-Pipe to get the 280hp at rear wheels.

This intake also allows you to keep the strut tower brace.

For what its worth, the Edelbrock Performer RPMII was ranked #1 by 5.0 Mustangs and Super Fords. Not sure if this one will let you keep the strut tower brace, though.

The "NEW" Cobra intakes since around 2005-ish are not NOT made in the USA. I have seen one, and its not a good casting.

Lots of guys know this and sell the MADE IN USA older casting at a higher price.

isn't that a little oversized for a stock cam/head setup?

(Its been a while since I've played with that stuff though... had an '89 "drag"/street Moosetank)

Robert,
I don't know if the track heat will be agressive enough for your AFR185's... The problem is getting an intake big enough to support the heads, and still have enough compression to make sense of the air/fuel volume... then exhaust primaries sized properly... in the end it will be 425HP/450TQ...

The TFS intakes are at least provisioned for 75mm TB's off the bat, so you can at least hit that part easily.
