Comp License and membership

Why do we have to pay twice. I get my renewal for my membership a few days ago and now I have to pay to renew the Competition license. Why not one card and one fee?

The HPDE guys may just want the magazine and calendar... no need for the license.

Count yourself lucky, I paid for a 2011 license and got another 2010 in the mail. :) (Talked with Dave Ho and it ended up being a processing error)
