I have a 3 7/16" nut I need to put a wrench on. The biggest wrench I've found local so far is a 24" adjustable and it aint even close. On-line I've found some 30" ones that are too small. I did find a 36" that will work, but at $500 and 30lbs, I'll pass.
Anyone know of a place in the DFW area that may have what I need on hand?
Not Lowes, Home Depot, Norther Tool or Tractor Supply.

Can't help you on the wrench....biggest I've got is a 1 7/8" and I've only needed it once. Why the hell are you working on an 18 wheeler instead of the race car??

It is for work, and be glad you don't live under this one.

3 7/16" is small in my industry.
I've seen some I can put my fist thru.

Ask Tammy to compress it to 1 13/16 and then I'll loan you a wrench so that she can finish it off. You didn't indicate whether it was left or right. Just hope the other one is ok.

You tried the equipment rental places like Rent One or Taylor etc?

Plate steel and a waterjet. That's what I do for oddball large nuts I run across, I even have one for Al. :)

I can cut you one on the laser. I had to make one to fit the top of my sand filter on my pool. Call me.

How about using a pipe wrench?

That is what I ended up using. Problem w/ those is you cant flip it over. It only works in one orientation for a given direction. I used a 24" one and a cheater pipe. I found a 48" one, but clearance around this tower was pretty tight. That and there are 2 studs and nuts on each corner and that limits positions of the pipe wrench on the nut.

Yes, but I would need various sizes. That is why an adjustable one was the best plan.

Don't listen to the bs about this being for "work"

Glenn is really stealing these from the towers. He is welding these big-ass nuts into strategic locations throughout the car to serve as future "equipment mounting" nutserts. Really, it's not ballast...
