So when a guy scores a 96 as a result ifa 3rd (95) and the point for poll is added to it and that race becomes a drop race, how do we know to only drop 95 of the 96 points since we do not drop poll points? This is a major flaw in that points sheet.

I walked the track Friday after the test day was over - the pavement is getting old, rough, and slick in quite a few key areas. It'll be hard to break records until a repave is done imho.

Still a fun track to drive though, its my favorite in this region :)

I think the biggest thing that helped maintain the record for another year was the 50mph head wind. It was staggering to watch cars pull out of the draft to see them slow immediately.

yup - good point about the headwind on the front straight, it was pretty brutal all weekend. Dunno about 50mph, but definitely in the 15-25mph+ range

Probably why none of the other NASA classes except AI bother with pole points. :) CMC also screws things up by mandating that everybody gets a participant ribbon with no DNF points.

I will ask the other regions how they handle AI/CMC as there has been no complaints from any of the other 12 regions.

From the looks of this, I'll just need to go back and build our Season Points sheet like we have been doing for a long time. The system is nice, but it does not work for our needs.
Any chance that other regions are still doing it the old was w/ regards to Offical Class Points? All Regions of CMC should be doing it the same - it's in the CMC rules.

So wasn't the point of this automated sheet to remove that workload for the Sereis Directors? Why not mod it to allow AI/CMC to use it? That column can be left blank for those who don't use it.

I say we just have a poker tournament at the end of the season and work it out that way...poker has straights, runs, blinds (sides) and all the cards are numbered, and competitors need to balance aggressiveness with strategic and tactical moves - just like racing...and this is all for fun right ?

Why doesn't AI/CMC just do points like the other 38 NASA classes... :).

Did some checking.

The other regions either don't track pole points for CMC and AI or they are including them in one column.
