While either way will work and I'm going for the wet method. I thought it was funny how half the sites that sell vinyl stickers (numbers, letters, stripes and such) say you should never use the wet method and the other half tells you to use the wet method.

I was going to dyno my car last Sat. but with no numbers or lettering I figured I better not. I'm sure it would have caused it to be way off.

When I had my own plotter and made stickers I would use the wet method on the big stuff that would need adjustment after applying.

Good call on the dyno. A slick car would have dyno'd a bit higher than one with the vinyl causing an increase in drag, not to mention weight. ;)

I use the wet method too, because I will never get it right the first time (plus that's what Wade said to do). Expecially if you're doing multiple layers. I'll do one layer a day to let it dry. I guess maybe the dry method may look better/less bubbles, but it's a racecar.

My cousin owns a graphics business and he always uses the wet method. He actually uses a solution that he purchases. I just use Windex. It takes a little longer to dry with Windex than his solution, but I need time to make sure it is postition well. :D

wet method w/windex. squeegee (sp) with a credit card after and then let dry overnight.

FINALLY... a good use for my overextended credit card...

I use water with a little dish soap in it (like about a teaspoon for an old windex bottle). I usually get a lot less air bubbles because you have more time to squeeze them out and yeah, credit card, drivers license, or the fancy plastic thing that some vinyl companies send with their decals.

It depends on the age of the car. Us older guys with older cars prefer the wet method. FMR
