Boy this is expensive. I wish we could lower the cost of racing (I have some ideas) to help grow the series.
This year I have spent
$30.00 co-pay for physical If you are an old fart like Randy and I you get to do this every other year
$45.00 membership to NASA This is total BS......why do I need a membership and a license?
$85.00 License fee to NASA
$1000.00 four new tires.
$75.00 mount and balance five tires.......three of my five wheels are bent so I guess here is another $500.00 I'm going to spend soon
$138.00 2 new hubs
$34.00 10 ARP wheel studs
$200.00 new fluids front to rear
$450.00 new brake pads and rotors
Still have to get a dyno $75.00
$300.00 sign up for MSRH
So I've already spent $2432.00 in one month.
I do all my own work (even building my engines) I can't imagine paying someone to do all this. I know I need a new diff as I hear a lot of noise coming from there since the axle tube broke loose at Hallett. So I guess I'm going to spend another grand on this in a few weeks. I started racing CMC because I thought it was not going to cost allot. Boy was I wrong. My biggest bitch is the F'ing Toyo's. I used to get a six race season out of six of the old 16" RA1's. I will go through at least 10 of the new 17" RA1's in a season. That alone added a grand to a season of racing. I'm sure I am forgetting something plus I traded sheet metal work for some new items on my car that I have no idea the cost of. Okay, I vented. I'm finished.
