And tell him you love him. I lost my Dad Sun. morning. ALS took him before his time. He was the greatest man I ever met. He lived in front of us so I saw him all the time but I still have a huge hole in my heart. I hated him when I was 16 and by 20 he was my best friend. I have no idea why I wanted to post this here but I thought I needed to.

Jerry, I am so sorry for your loss.

My Dad was my best friend as well and still miss him to this day. He passed away in Novemebr of 2000.

The feeling of being alone, not having some one that has your back, that "go-to" person is gone ... all those feeling ease over time.
There is some solice in knowing that the feelings you have for your dad, exist is your son.

Lean on family and friends for a while.

Jerry, I'm very sorry to hear of your loss.

But I am glad you thought to post it up as a reminder. Sometimes it is way too easy to lose sight of what is really important in our day to day stuff....

Really hate to hear that Jerry; prayers from the Francis clan.

I've said it before that I get great enjoyment seeing Jordan/Love/Proctor and whoever else father/son at the track.

Sorry for the loss. I agree with Wirtz that I'm glad you posted it. I consider us an extended family cause life isn't all about racing. I'm super close with my Dad, too and I dread the day I go through this. I'm with Mitch about having that person that is always there and a good reminder that I can do better for my kids. You have the same role with Jay and have been given the best example by the way you think of your Dad.

Feeling your pain Jerry-give me a shout anytime.

JJ,
My prayers are with you, and it is so wonderful that you and Jay can do what you guys do together.
At 16, that is when the alien entered your body. At 20, he left. Pretty early in life, as the aliens do not usually leave until 25.
Your dad will always have your back.

*I would have like to met that 16-20yr old JJ... problem is, your Dad would have had to bail both of us out.
