View Full Version : ECR is a month out!

Is it finally time to go back racing? I've been sitting since April and I'm ready to hit the track!
We always have an "end of season" bash at ECR, but since NOLA in Nov is the end of season event, not sure if we want to break from tradition and wait until then or go ahead and have a group cook-out now and let Dave handle the end of year bash.
It would also be a good time to celebrate Dan's participation at Nat's.

Thoughts?

Still Friday night dinner at Sweetie Pies?

Would help to have a running car but I'm leaning toward coming up regardless.

Tell me again why the summer isn't the "off season" for us? First race at ECR... last race at Hallett... that would be cool.

No offense at all to Dave (he's stepped up the 'owner' role) but I miss the big AI/CMC and guest dinner blow-outs.

Not racing either (car still sits largely broken and Sunday is spoken for).
I should be flying back that Friday night and would definately take a detour on the way home for Sweetie Pies.
Planning to have Anna's '68 done by then (finishing up body work this weekend) and maybe could talk her into driving it out and spend Saturday watching. If everyone wants to do the group BBQ i could bring out the smoker in the truck and bring some ribs 'n stuff.

I'll be at Sweetie Pies w/ or w/out you guys. I prefer w/.
W/ the lack of responce, I was thinking I would need to pack a sack lunch.

I agree w/ the off season thing. Be suggesting it for years now.

Kids for sure on Sunday. Both have softball on Sat and all games this year are away since White Settlement is redoing the baseball/softball fields right now. I have no idea where they will be and if it goes like I think it will, both will need to be in two differnt places at the same time.

If we want to have a banquet like the ones we have had in the past (away from the track) we all need to agree to do so. Otherwise, Dave B will do the normal dinner and awards at Houston 2013.

I love the banquets we have. I think we should have a NASA banquet away from the track.

I'm in for ECR. Sweety Pies for sure on Friday night and could probably be persuaded to join in a celebration on Saturday night. I like Frank's plan. I agree with celebrating Dan and Mark representing us at Nats and maybe a post wedding bachelor party for Mosty. Oh wait-he will be married by then and probably won't be able to come.

Richard-I would like to go for a ride in your car, too.

That's gonna be squashed, I think Kyle may not be there that weekend so there's no way I can do Comp school and Tech. I was gonna try and work something out but I think I'm gonna wait and do it after I've got settled in to the new job and have more $

Had a good weekend of progess in the garage...unfortunately not working on the race car. This is how the race car has been since I got back from Hallett. I was able to at least look under it and see that there weren't any leaks. I plan to have some time for it on Sunday-ordered the torque arm bracket today from GMpartsdirect. If it comes in and everything checks out I will register next week. I don't have any brake duct hose on the car anymore. Does it matter what temp brake duct hose to get? Jegs has some for 300 or 550 degrees?

GlennCMC70

BryanL

"What is Optispark? Glenn"

Von Liebbe-Though shall not cast stones when they have no stones. Cover is on the car so my wife doesn't see it or get dirty if she bumps up against it since she parks by it. But since Hallett it has been used as a storage table and I wouldn't want it to scratch up the parts for the other car.

Gary is always right on the money with his posts! Lap record here I come. Well at least I'll be ahead of the 55.

In my experience the brake duct hoses fail from rubbing on things like the tire and the suspension pieces and not from melting. I wouldnt spend the money on high temp stuff.

Mike-as a suggestion I wouldn't depend on any track for fuel. Especially if you can't run pump gas try to bring it with you if possible. You can fill your jugs up at the track at the end of the weekend. Too many chances for them to run out or the machine to stop working.

Thanks Al. My new crew chief is getting me set up.

JJ-I'm not that old that I have to take a nap in the afternoon like you. I do hope you can keep up in case I can't hang with the trophy girls. Is Michael Mosty racing or just crewing for his boss?
