I bought this thing and had it sitting around for a year, then decided to switch to an LS1. It's black, and has never been mounted. $400 seems fair.

I'd really rather not ship it, which is why it's not on eBay. Can bring it to NOLA if needed.

What would it take to make work for an ls1?.

Different motor mounts. Umi's website shows both styles. I thought about it, but wussed out and bought an ls1 kmember off eBay.

Looked at their pictures for both and they "look" the same. Any real benefits to these for geometry advantages or is it just the lower weight?

<----still learning about F-bodies.

No geometry change. Why would we need it, all the "other" CMC guys think GM got it perfect right out of the box.

Originally designed as a drag part and beefed up for auto-x and rr duty.

I got it in an attempt to shave some weight from the front end. It also has elongated slots for camber adjustment.
It's less bulky than the stock k-member, but routing the factory brake lines isn't as clean. More room for brake ducting.

If you look carefully, the passenger side of the LT1 has a T shaped plate for the engine mount, instead of the extended arm of the drivers side. LS1 mount has extended arms both sides. I'm not sure if the drivers side arm is in the proper location.

Have you contacted UMI to see if they would trade you for an LS1 version?

Yeah, I went through that about a year ago. UMI had a huge restocking fee, and combined with 2x shipping, it didn't make sense. I found an LS1 k-member on ebay that they had listed as a scratch-n-dent.
