Dirt Track Outing in Houston

Gary, Al and I were talking and are going to go watch some dirt track racing this coming Saturday, March 23rd at Gator Motorplex in Willis, Texas. The track is just off I-45 north of Houston between Conroe and Huntsville.

This weekend they are featuring pure stocks, hobby stocks, limited modified, street stocks, and 305 RaceSaver Sprints with racing starting around 7pm and they run till 11pm or so.

I took my boys last year and had a blast and it is very family oriented.


So, if you are interested, post up here, we will just meet there and have a good time.

I called the track and it appears they don't allow you to bring in a cooler. Draft beer is a dollar. Cooler in the car, I remember them allowing in and out with a ticket stub.

Randy, Ross, myself, and the Tazmanian Devil and his wife showed up. The racing was good, the sprint cars - 305RaceSaver class - were very cool and the draft Ziegenbock was $1. We will have to do that again.

Those of us that turned up had way too many teeth for sititng in the stands so we enjoyed the corporate enclosure (see track map reference the highest point on the clay bank in front of turn 3/4). Beers, company and racing all great.

This weekend Gatorplex has race saver sprints and on Labor Day WE they have modifieds. Both good viewing action. I've been carrying 360 Motorsports banner on my car for a while so given they are the major sponsor that's gotta be good for some pit passes right?
