The PFC-01 is my favorite pad. Dan is using the R4 and obviously does okay. The 01's have been going up every time I order. Any info on the R4?

Dan uses R4's 'cause that's what I told him to order and he seems to like them. He hasn't used anything different on the CMC car. I've used the R4's for many years and like them. Since I like them and haven't had any problem with them, I've had no incentive to try anything different. Neither one of us would be useful for a comparison with other options.

Love my Carbotechs.

The Carbotechs felt okay and were less money but I went through them almost twice as fast as the 01's.

Thanks Richard. I know Michael is paying $350.00-$375.00 for PFC-01's for the Stoptech's. Any idea what the R4's run?

They appear to be $196 - 20% for being a NASA member...

No kidding.
I hate paying $350/set but they last about 5 events so I figure if I switch to a different pad I would I would only save about $20-30/event. That is about the same price as a case of Keystone Light so I'll just live with it. ;^)

But if you save money on pads, you can get two cases of Keystone Light or maybe even afford real beer.

Nah.... just don't use them.

I also get a season out of cheap autozone rotors at $36 a piece. Of course...the negative is that all the folks with your mega dollar brake kits are out braking me like crazy. :o

Maybe so but who won the Championship last year?

Big deal-your brakes last forever but you kill a set of tires every weekend. Quit sliding the car to slow it down and use your brakes some.

How can you tell they are out braking you when they are behind you?

You might have a point about tires.... but they do last almost two weekends.

I had a new set for MSR-C. My rears are about 75% used up. The fronts are about 50%. I was shocked.
They started @ 5/32".

The spec Miata guys were convinced that Toyo didn't use the same compound when they reintroduced the RA1. 900 pound gorilla in the room IMO.

Edit to add: And now they want to go to a stickier tire, in a spec tire series?

I thought that was just us (CMC) thinking that way. If the Miata's are going through the tires faster then I guess it's not just in our minds.
I used to make a six race season on six tires. Now two events on a set is about all we can get. I got through NOLA last year with five almost slick tires. I think James or Michael ate up a new set of 5/32's.
