Need a good T56 builder in Houston. Found a piece of "vibratory cleaning media" from my new tailshaft that has been fed through the trans and made a mess. Mostly need a 5th gear and a thorough cleaning and checking of other parts. Want good but cheap.

Gracias!

Not in Houston, but a T56 specialist.

Looking at Houston as I will be working down there in a couple weeks and could drop it off and pick it up. I found that Tick Performance is now doing very reasonable ship out/back rebuilds with a warranty for not much more than the cost of the rebuild kits. I may still tackle it myself but I am concerned about booger'd up internals from all the debris. I am on the fence right now for just pulling the trigger on a TKO 600. It's only $1500 more and saves nearly 40#. I just need to find out what the current trans needs other than a major flushing and a 5th gear ($199). Ugh.

I have a great builder in San Antonio but that is nearly as far as DFW. One of the crappy things of living in a small town.

http://kpracing.com/aboutus.html Joe Honeycutt used to own t56rebuilds that became sixspeedsinc which I think went BK and screwed some people but it's not like you are giving them a whole car to build. He is the guy who wrecked the 250 mph camaro at the texas mile, too.

Who is the guy in San Antonio?

Give Joe Dederichs a call and at least ask, especially if you are going to ship it. He also sells various new units.

Talk to Tony at Astro. He's not a super big fan of TKO-600's... He can at least talk you thru the plus/minus of doing that.

After getting mixed reviews on the tko, i decided to break the bank and have sent the trans out to south carolina to have it faceplated. With the increased rpm range i figured its cheaper and better to not have crappy synchros giving me a headache. Hopebi like it so my fingers are crossed.
