Anyone else thinking of making the haul for this? That track is a blast in a Mustang on iRacing and I'd love to take a shot at the real thing. If anyone else is going, I'd be willing to go in half/thirds/whatever if there's a way we could haul 2+ cars at once.

I'm most likely going to go no matter what, but figured if a few of us could pool together we may could save a few dollars.

Registration opens Dec. 1.

Trying to get a group together to go pillage the event - drink all their beer, take all their trophies and track records and such, and return home with the spoils and leave them with a bootprint on their ass. HA!

Tracks supposedly alot faster than it was the last NASA event there in 2009. Fresh ground surface, lots of nice new paved runoff, etc... place is worth going to very nice, museum kicks ass, track is mostly fun -I need more HP, you guys will love it as-is.

So far its Jander and I. (Unless I sell the car, now that its back "home" where it belongs and not going to Canada).

I could get pretty interested in this field trip. Will confirm once I've got the yella terra back on its feet again

I'm considering the trip.

796 miles each way for me. I would love to go but the wife could care less about using that many vacation days for racing. Road Atlanta is over 900 miles each way.

Yeah, it's far. Worth it or not is an opinion. :) Ain't no shame in skipping the trip unless your only reason is you're chicken...

checking SE/NOLA/MS regions' results it seems they typically get one full race per day. That is hell of a haul for just two races.

We're spoiled here with the 4 races. Double dip / super size in a PT class then...

Just wondering.......why do they only get two races? Do they have that many more racers than we do? Three races (since I race as a team) could cause me to quit but two races I would have to find another hobby.

Actually the opposite problem - they have a well attended DE program and can't cram DE1 & 2 together, DE 3 & 4 together, etc. Upside is a big pool of drivers to recruit from. There's a happy medium somewhere...

Double dipping would be 4 races, plus extra practice and qual if you ran it all. And all at a pretty dang nice track to drive on and be at to boot.

Doesn't double dipping mean double entry fee? So, ~$600 for a weekend to get 4 races and a whole bunch of DE/lapping time? Just wanting to make sure I understand what y'all are proposing.

Supersize - just like nationals, just like Dave does here - 2nd entry discounted greatly.

They haven't released pricing yet...

Sunday 1hr "Enduro" (The Great Pumpkin Run) 2007 was pretty fun. Every "race" car on the track at once. I drew a really good starting number, but traded with a poor one to start near the tail

just an FYI: apparently Barber is always 103dB limit with a lower 101dB limit in the winter months of Dec, Jan and Feb. Be advised if you're going.

Ive got two spots open on the rig from MSR Houston to Barber and back (or deliver to Cresson in March). Unless Jander changes his mind, then one.

Price is 33 cents a mile. So 450'ish round trip.

Car plus whatever spares and gear you need. Work out of the rig, power, lights, air, fridge, BBQ, etc. Throw in a sleeping bag and sleep in the rig.

Ride to and from with me or fly in out or any combination of.
