Just tried to order and John told me they are no longer available. I have been wanting to try the Porterfield R4 since they are half price but I ordered the 01 replacement PFC11.

Jerry, are you sure it isn't just for your pad plate (wilwood)? Just ordered a set of for stoptechs right before TWS. actually, now that I think about it, Donovan had those on his shelf. nevermind.

I'm sure. Go to their web site. The 01 is no more. I really want to try the Porterfield R4 like Dan runs but I had (for some reason I have not figured out yet) one of my pads is worn almost 1/8" more than the other three so I need another set of 01's. I bought the PFC11's instead. The Porterfields are a hundred dollars less then the PFC's.

Paging DD...

What's the scoop, what's out there for a equivalent replacement?

What do you have to do to "racing" rotor rings to transition to a new compound???

Key in the 01 part number you are looking for into amazon. There are several retailers that have them in stock and clearing them out. We found two sets of 01's for the subaru from an amazon retailer. Even found the rears! I must say 01's all the way around are AMAZING on a heavy street car!

PFC requires nothing more than the regular bedding process when moving from similar compounds. You will be fine just throwing the 11's onto the car. PFC has plenty of white papers on this on their site.

I bought Porterfield R4's. Wonder if I can just plug and play?

Call them. Pfc is the only pad I have seen that you can successfully "slap" on after another brand. Probably has something to do with the higher heat range and friction coefficient being so high. Wouldn't hurt to throw new rotor rings on and have the best bedding possible. Then keep old rings as spares. Afterall, aren't you a trophy girl now?! ;)

Interesting. That is the same plate # we run on the front of our Subaru. I found 2 sets at an internet supplier back in April so the 01's are still out there. In fact, its the same pad on 02-2010 Subaru STi's so maybe search Subaru or import sites.

Makes that brake package for Spec Iron seem small all of a sudden. Yikes!
