All:

For any of you that saw the red #21 Mustang Boss 302R (Conti Grand-Am car) that was sitting next to the AI/CMC area, this is the link to the for sale ad:

http://www.racingjunk.com/Other/182105164/Roush-prepared-and-maintained-Mustang.html

I'm not affiliated with the car, but did speak with the owner while I was walking around.

What do you do with it? AIX by yourself or HPDE? I assume you can't run AI with it as is?

It can run in AI. Udell won AI in a 302R this past yr at nats by over a minute margin haha!

that would be a great enduro car. I did like how they modded the water pump to get rid of the goofy factory plumbing and t-stat housing. However, I like my boss driveline wrapped in a tin can! It was a nice car but still a bit pricey and still be hunting for a class or mod to run AI competitively. Honestly with the plethora of Corvettes and BMW's on the market as of late, pony racecars aren't selling but for $0.20 on the original dollar. I know the rehagen car went for less than $30k.

Sweet-I'll take the banged up 55 for scrap then. With the current setup I could take it and get some wins since it's so good even a monkey could drive it-HAH.

I never said that. JB was the one with the car a monkey could drive. At least that's what he said. The 55 is a bitch to drive.......look at how the rear steps out all the time.

It would have to be de-tuned to AI power levels, then add the 302S splitter and wing. Plus some other stuff, but as stated above, Alec's car is a 302R chassis. Dean also won multiple championships with a 302R chassis. The car that Larry Boatner just bought from Dean is a 4.6 (or Cammer motor) based car (pre-302R/S).

Yeah, Larry got a great deal on that car especially if it's a 5.0 Cammer motor. That alone is like $15k.

Easiest way to de-tune the 302 R is put the factory Mustang intake on it. Should put it right on the numbers for AI if it's 3600# or so.
