I am bringing my daughter down to tour a few of the Texas colleges and I thought I would catch the tws event while we are down there. Does anybody have room for me to stash my 28' trailer while we drive around Texas? We will be in the DFW area Monday afternoon. We will be back for the race on Thursday afternoon. Also I would like get the car tuned and dynoed while I am down there. Any recommendations? It is a coyote engined s-197 AI car. Thanks dudes

I doubt this will help but you are welcome to park your trailer at my shop in Hutto, TX.

Awesome, looking forward to hanging out Cody. Doesn't sound like a parking spot in Houston is what you're looking for but you have one if you need it.

Great to hear it Cody. Are you staying in DFW Mon-Thur then? Depending on what colleges you are hitting leaving your trailer in DFW or dropping it in Hutto could be better. Let me know if I can help or PM to work on logistics.

Thanks for the the info guys. I spoke with Chris and apparently I can't read a globe. So I am going to leave the car in Hutto with JJ! Thanks dudes! So now I just need a tuner who knows coyotes? Anyone anyone?

Travis at Gearheads in Arlington
(817) 465-4327 (shop)
(817) 538-2345 (cell)

He tuned Dennis Tankers' car. No experience with him and Coyote motors, but he has a BUNCH of that stuff in his shop. He is primarily a Mustang shop and does forced induction work, but can tune a Coyote.

Travis is a top notch tuner. Dallas Mustang can also help if you just need to record dyno pulls.

I'm signing up Monday provided I don't blow the car up again testing it at TWS this Sunday.

Are there any shops in or near Austin? Turns out I will be around there the most.
Thanks

Colvin Automotive has a dynojet and does some limited tuning mostly for drag racers but it's not their focus. Dyno is closed on weekends.

Henderson Performance in New Braunfels has a dynojet and does quite a lot of tuning or at least they used to. Talk to Corey (the owner) if you'll be in that area.

Aikman Performance Tuning in Cedar Park specializes in LS tuning but uses a Dynapack. They don't have a Dynojet for NASA certification.

Travis tuned my car...however, he TUNES on a loaded dynotronics dyno, not a dyno-jet. He has a dynojet in the upper shop but it is difficult to get lowered racecars into that bay.

Call Terry Fair at Vorshlag and ask him who tuned his old shop mustang. Those guys can handle it fine.

My plans are to use Travis for tuning and then back it up at one of the other local shops.

Ya...... So slight over reaction. I realize it has been that way for a while, June ish. I was still planning off the original calendar that had the event labeled the weekend of the 23rd. Rookie mistake.

Registered. Didn't think I had much to do and remembered I was losing fuel pressure at Hallett. Thanks to the tear down crew of the black 24 I have the plastic tank in the backyard. Swapping it out once I get the fuel pump back this week. Just trying to figure out the tank differences between the metal 98 tank and the plastic 99-02 tank.

I think it's Rob Gronkowski.

Successfully swapped the 98 metal tank for the 02 plastic tank/pump. Now the pump is quiet but fuel pressure still bleeds down to zero and takes several turns to prime the system. Observations: Somewhat of a pain to install the tank by yourself but the plastic tank is much easier since the fill tube can be disconnected. The pump in the metal tank had been whining for a long time and was down on fuel pressure at Hallett. Found all the metal/plastic baffling in the metal tank was broken-possibly from the wreck at Cresson. Also in the metal tank was plenty of black jelly looking crud.

Ready to see you losers this weekend!

SN95 and SN99. Two cheater models, and an over engineered version we had to toss... probably need to give them some weight adjustment. Or eye patch. Or 255s. Or Celine Dion piped into the car.

"Celine Dion piped into the car".

That would be my last weekend. Unlike Marshal I hate that woman's voice. I don't like Barbra Streisand (left wing Pinko) either but at least she can sing!

Maybe the Mustangs should be required to use this braking package.
