I need to look into having a spare tranmission shipped. Has anyone done something like this or have any suggestions? Not like I can put it into a box and send it UPS...
Thanks!

Jeff,
Actually I had one shipped to me exactly that way. Double boxed, stuffed with newspaper, mucho tape on the outside. UPS to my door.

I would also take a plastic bottle cap and tape it to the tip of the pilot shaft.
If this pokes through and gets boogered your hosed.

I had a T56 shipped to me on a pallet.
It was wrapped (layered) in bubble wrap and tie wrapped to the pallet.
Make sure you drain the fluid really well, though. The UPS guy was not happy.

Interesting. Timely post. I've been trying to get a spare T56 from LA (not L.A.) and the guy is balking at shipping problems. $100 for shipping sound about right?

Mine came from Florida and it cost about $100 as I recall.

I hung one up with the tail down and it drained really well.
