Some of you are aware that my 30th birthday was on Wednesday. My parents and bride conspired and bought me a super nice racing suit to commemorate such an occasion.

Anybody have any recommendations for a place to do embroidery / install NASA patches on suits?

This is the only 30th birthday I'll celebrate...from here forward I identify as 29.

Daniel.

I did this on my old one and it turns out I'm bad at sewing. Wife is no help either...

Don't most new patches come with Iron On backing? My wife can't sow either but she can iron the hell outta clothes like a pro.

So as long as you are using Nomex thread there is no big deal in sewing through the suit? I was not sure if you had to use a particular technique or something. AKA some how miraculously not go all the way through.

I'm guessing most of us have been sewn through all the layers. Mine, at least, are attached with Nomex.

This is a really funny thread. No pun intended.

I went through all the layers on my suit with nomex thread. It just looks like a blind person sewed it...
