Anyone heard when the 2019 TX Schedule will be released?

In the absence of a TX schedule, you could always plan for an RM schedule. ;)

Those are long tows every race weekend! Diesel budget would cut into the tire budget.

Great to see ECR on the schedule and hope they are ready. Don't know about Houston but I'll be at Cresson, ECR, Hallett. Won't be at COTA, likely pass on racing in August, feel the same about Houston around Labor Day and not worth the haul to NOLA.

I'm hoping to make comp school in Jan. Last year they had comp school at Cota but not sure if they did it in Jan too.

Not that I will be driving in Aug but I wonder where they are going to be?

This. To move those barricades cost a bunch of money, twice.

Why?

It's not the greatest RACE course. Can be boring. One thing to keep in mind is tires. I suggest the freshest you can bring for safety. There is a reason why Hoosier makes a specific tire for Rovals in the Trans Am sizes for Daytona. Nearly lost a fellow instructor/friend several years back with Texas Driving Experience in a VERY bad accident there. He took two years to learn to walk and talk again...his passenger was killed. They have installed safe barriers since then but I would hate to be one that hits thems...think COTA expensive.

Why?

You spend as much time driving around the oval as you do on the infield course.

I wonder if the cheap cast wheel most of us run will hold up to this course? I like the idea of the Roval but if it's COTA money (and I was going to spend that kind of money again for a weekend event) I would just run COTA since it's 45 minutes from my house.

North Texas folks will like the schedule. The Roval looks fun to drive (banking), less fun to race, you get to drive a runway, road course, and oval. I wonder if they will cone us off to bleed some speed going into T1.

What kind of speeds do yall see on the roval here?

And what constitutes the COST differences between different venues (COTA Roval ect)

No idea on speed but I’d say a CMC car 150mph or so, track rental price usually dictates Nasa event price

Pretty sure a CMC car would go back in time if it hit 150mph. Weren't you guys seeing 130-135 at TWS? I think 130 is all they did at the Glen too, right?

Can CMC cars run wide open around the oval? That video looks scary!

Most CMC cars top track speeds are 132-136 mph. They can probably go faster, but not much and it would take a mile long straight for it to happen. I've been to TMS three times with TDE (no racing) in three different cars all making 340-350 RWHP and the top speed at start finish was 142-144 mph. A good handling car should be able to run wide open around the oval. The loading on the tires, wheels and suspension is extremely high through turns 3 and 4 of the oval. As always make sure your shit is in top shape and tight (tires, wheels, bearings, spindles and struts, control arms, k-members, castor and camber adjusters, etc). I also would not want to hit the wall in turn 4. It will end up being a very bad day in more ways than one. Hopefully not life altering. The only difference when I was there is they made us run on the apron (not on the oval) through turns 1 and 2 (which was still 90 plus mph).

We've run the ROVAL at Gateway in St. Louis over the years and thankfully it is not on our schedule next year. Any off track excursion results in hard contact with an unmovable object.

Yeah and HUGE flaw in the design of the wall in general, TWS CW always worried me coming out of 1 onto the main straight for this same reason (pit wall knife).
