Let’s celebrate the 2019 season and look forward to a great 2020 upcoming season!!!

I wanted to extend an invitation to any current, previous, and future racers to attend the end of year banquet / party that will be Saturday December 14th at Craig’s house in Tomball, TX.
20118 Stone Gate Ct
Tomball, TX 77377

We are still coordinating exact details to make sure this is a great time for all racers, family, and friends.
Craig has offered his place for the gathering as it has plenty of room if you want to bring your RV to stay the night or there are hotels in the immediate area.
This is going to be a great time with great food, drink, year end awards, a sneak peak at the AICMC end of year video, and some great time to kick back and bench race. Picture a race weekend without the stress of tending to a car or responsibilities of an event. There will be a fire pit, for hole, and plenty of other activities to entertain.

Daniel Records will be working to get an awesome year end video put together so start getting your in car videos ready to send to Daniel to be included. More details to follow.

Please post here if you will be attending with or without guests so we can start getting a headcount. We definitely want a great attendance but would especially love to see both new racers that are working through HPDE/comp school to attend as well as any previous season racers that want to come to catch up with their fellow racers.

Ok guys, according to the Facebook invite we should have a great turnout next weekend. 25 Adults confirmed on FB plus 4 spouses and 6 folks that are confirmed coming elsewhere. Mid thirties is a good field plus kids.

Speaking of kids, who's volunteering to be Santa?

John and I fabricated the new race track firepit/spit roasting contraption last weekend. I ordered the porker for the spit roast yesterday and John is beer tasting this weekend to make sure we pair our drink to food well..... (right?). Daniel is on the job compiling footage for a year end vid; not too late to get your stuff to him.

I have one request of you all. I'd made the assumption there was at least a penny or two in the kitty, turns out kitty is a broke cat. It'd be great if a few of Ya'll could bring some sides n nibblybits and if the others could throw a buck or two (say$25) into the hat on the night. Here's the list of requests, please stick your hand up for which one you can provide or something else you'd like to bring (kinda like the Hallet affair):

Buffalo chicken dip (confirmed Michael/Reagan)
Scoop chips for above (confirmed Michael/Reagan)
queso (some like it hot) (Confirmed Richard)
Corn chips
Chips/dip (confirmed Dave/Sean)
Kids drinks (Confirmed Jander AKA Champ)
Rumchata/Fireball (Sarah/Daniel, you got this right?)
Red Mist Margaritas (as only Dan knows how)
Potato Salad (Confirmed Mike Urbanski)
Coleslaw (enough for 40 people)
Hot dogs & buns (for kids) (confirmed Jander AKA Champ)
Apple pie n Ice Cream (confirmed Dave/Sean)

A few of us will start cooking Saturday morning, if you'd like to join us please do. If you're bringing an RV (encouraged) please arrive around 5 to get backed in, there is plenty of space. For those staying the night without an RV, please bring a sleeping bag there will be a bed somewhere I promise.

Looking forward to seeing everyone

We'll bring the buffalo chicken dip and some scoops.
I can't wait to get to hang out with everyone and not have the responsibility of everything that goes into preparing for an event, towing a car, and racing the following day!!

Does anyone have the traveling Crew Chief of the Year award?
I didn’t keep track of who received it last and apologize for not remembering. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I assume it isn't me. Pretty sure I gave it back to someone for the next year's banquet.

We can do the hot dogs, buns and drinks for the kids. I can also talk to my mom about making a cake, cupcakes or some cakeballs or something if there's any interest in that.

I'll figure this one out, don't expect anything homemade or less than 93 octane.

I have a set of RR’s free to anyone and I can bring them to the banquet tomorrow. Three have 11 heat cycles and one had 15. Still have some of the main lines showing and would be good for practice.

The video was great! We still spent a good amount of time sitting on the floor in the trailer even though there were plenty of chairs available in the huge shop and around the fire pit.

I was trying to show some folks the golden helmet wreck - Daniel, is the video online?

But that trailer has an upstairs and I’d be willing to live in it. The entire evening was a blast and much that happened after the video is a blur. Idk if it was the beer or the two cigars i smoked but here we are...

Video isn’t online yet, hell... my liver barely is back online. I’ll upload it very soon.

What a great time!! Thank you again Craig and Pip for hosting and putting on such a great event!!
It was great to see so many racers from current and previous seasons attend as well as new faces to hopefully join the group soon. It was nice to be able to get together and not have the stress of loading up cars and preparing for a race weekend. Also it was unique to hear of all the people talking about how amazing Jerry's sausage was.......

The party got kicked off with a gender reveal burnout for Burt and Kristen. We all quickly realized the tires were very sticky and upon splattering rubbery water onto Craig's foot/leg, left a colorful residue that was very difficult to remove. The burnout was very impressive and quickly filled the entire shop with a cloud of pink smoke, congrats on having a girl!!!!!

After a good 30-minutes to let all the smoke finally clear the shop, we then did a season recap with awards and talked details about the upcoming season.

Reminder to check all your safety gear for the upcoming 2020 season. Belts, window nets, seats, fire bottle / system, fuel cell, etc.
SA2020 helmets will "most likely" be out for the 2021 season, therefore making any 2010 helmet expired. You still have a little over 1 year if this applies to you.
The new Toyo Tire decal placement goes live for 2020 and is very specific. Please look up your specific vehicle year to see the exact placement required to qualify for Toyo Bucks.

Daniel is going to help by doing more social media things for next year to help promote AI/CMC. He will also be going around collecting video at the events next year so we can have more footage for the end of year video.
We discussed how every racer can help do a better job of promoting AI/CMC, specifically to Mustang and Camaro drivers in HPDE and TT. We will all look to take a more proactive approach just to introduce ourselves and also giving rides to hopeful future racers.
Angie discussed plans to form a Women of NASA social group to promote comradery for all ladies at the track.

Awards
AI - 1st place, Craig McCormick

CMC - 5th place, Heather Sanchez
CMC - 4th place, Pranav Patel
CMC - 3rd place, John Martin
CMC - 2nd place, Michael Mosty
CMC - 1st place, Josh Sooknanan

AIX - 1st place, Josh Sooknanan, what a hard fought battle :^)

Iron Man - None for 2019 but hopefully we will have winners in 2020 as this is a great award showing commitment, prep, and reliability.

Crew Chief of the Year - Richard Pederson, what an amazing commitment in helping Josh completely change car setup over the whole season

Golden Helmet - Josh Sooknanan for his spectacular braking misjudgment and wall contact at TMS

Developer of the Year - Josh Sooknanan. This is a new award thought up and designed by Craig to award the driver who put in great developing effort in the shop to get rewarded on track with improving time and reliability.

We then watched the End of Year video that Daniel helped make. Thank you so much for helping do this on such short notice!!
We will all make a much better effort to get you our videos throughout next year.

The remainder of the night was just a great time hanging out with great friends.
Thank you again to all that attended!!

All my life I have heard about how great my sausage is. No worries.

In fact the truth is you to can get great sausage. Anytime you are in Elgin, TX. drop into Meyers BBQ right on 290 and order their Beef sausage. There is another place in Elgin that is much bigger and famous for sausage (Southside Market BBQ) but IMHO it is not anywhere as good as the Meyers sausage is.
